Gulf Bank robbery case adjourned to Oct 28

Royal’s name used to commit crimes

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 14: The Criminal Court adjourned until Oct 28, 2018 the session on the Gulf Bank armed robbery case involving a Jordanian. The Jordanian had earlier denied all the charges pressed against him.

Case files indicate the Hawally Criminal Investigat­ion Department personnel arrested the accused, a Jordanian in his 20’s, who has no previous criminal record.

Investigat­ions pointed to the Jordanian committing the armed robbery in Gulf Bank where he stole KD 4,500 cash at gun point and then escaped from the scene.

Name exploited: Chairperso­n

of the Kuwait Youth Associatio­n and member of the ruling family Sheikha Amal Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah has sought the help of the E-Crimes Department of the Criminal Investigat­ion Department to arrest people who have exploited her name to commit crimes, reports Al-Rai daily.

Sheikha Amal said the suspects in her name on WhatsApp and Instagram, contacted her friends and asked for financial assistance.

She added she managed to identify one of the fraudsters – believed to be a Jordanian. She added, she has contacted a senior Jordanian official to track him down and bring him to justice.

She added, she has requested all her friends to ignore any messages for financial assistance.

Thief arrested:

A Kuwaiti citizen who stole money and mobile recharge cards from a convenienc­e store in Farwaniya area has been arrested.

According to security sources, Farwaniya securityme­n conducted investigat­ions after receiving informatio­n about the theft, and they managed to identify the suspect, says Al-Seyassah.

After he was arrested, he confessed to the theft. Necessary action was taken and he was referred to the Public Prosecutio­n.

Meanwhile, officers from Criminal Investigat­ions Department arrested a Kuwaiti woman who was involved in a breach of trust case. She was detained in Ardiya Police Station where necessary action was taken.
