TUNIS:

Five people have perished and two others are reported missing as a result of heavy rain in several Tunisian provinces, said spokesman of the civil defense Moiz Triaa on Thursday.

Speaking in a press release, Triaa said authorities had located corpses of the deceased.

Civil defense teams are searching for two missing persons in Al-Oyoun

and Zaghouan south of the capital.

The government meteorological institute said volume of the fallen rain had reached 195 mm in Nabul, 130 mm in Kasserine, 140 mm in Zaghouan, 130 mm in Manouba and 100 mm Le Kef. (KUNA)
