NUKS-France to hold first national confab on Oct 20

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 18: Chairperson of the National Union of Kuwaiti Students (NUKS)-France and neighboring countries Eid Al-Rameesh said the union was established in the latter part of the 1990s to serve Kuwaitis studying in these countries, reports Al-Anba daily.
In his interview with the daily, Al-Rameesh revealed the union will hold its first national conference on Oct 20; in addition to the election of higher executive staff.
He highlighted the services offered to students and the challenges they face abroad.
Asked about the problems of Kuwaitis studying in France and neighboring countries, he pointed out the cancellation of the accreditation of French universities. He said the accreditation of 70 percent of governmental universities was cancelled without conducting any study.
“Last summer, we met Ministry of Higher Education Undersecretary Dr Sabaih Al-Makhaizem; Assistant Undersecretary for Scholarships, Accreditation and Cultural Relations Fatma Al-Sanan; Head of Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Department Dr Hamad Al-Adwani and Cultural Attaché in Paris Dr Adel Al-Mane’a. We discussed the significance of French governmental universities and the necessity to accredit them considering the quality of education they offer,” he narrated.
