The committee investigating the trial of ministers has decided that the petition presented by Lawyer Yousef Al-Muhaish against former deputy premier and minister of interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled lacked seriousness due to absence of evidences, reports Aljarida daily quoting sources.
They explained that the petition was dismissed, as it relied on a published press report in a local daily about irregularities detected by the State Audit Bureau in the Ministry of Interior’s “hospitality” case.
The sources stressed that the decision of the committee, which is presided over by Judge Osama Al-Babtain, is based on the lack of sufficient evidences, as the petition cannot be filed against the minister on the allegation of contravention of the law for protection of public funds based on a press report about financial irregularities in the “hospitality” case.
