Qatar Airways commemorates the 73rd ’versary of Vietnamese independence

KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait, Oct 20: Qatar Airways was delighted to be the Exclusive Airline Partner for a special gala event celebrating the 73rd anniversary of Vietnam’s independence, which was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Kuwait City, on Oct 16.
The event, which was hosted by the Embassy of Vietnam in Kuwait, aimed to highlight the food, fashion, art and culture of the Vietnamese nation, which commemorated 73 years of independence last month.
The national carrier of the State of Qatar currently operates gateways to two popular destinations in Vietnam, with 14 weekly flights from Doha to both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. On Dec 19, 2018, the award-winning airline will launch four weekly flights direct from Doha to a third destination in Vietnam, the beautiful coastal city of Da Nang.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Akbar Al Baker, said: “It is my pleasure to extend the airline’s congratulations to the people of Vietnam on the 73rd anniversary of the nation’s independence. Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi are two of our most popular destinations, so it is a privilege to share in the rich heritage and culture of this fascinating country at this special gala event.
“Qatar Airways is also delighted to be extending its reach even further into Vietnam with the launch of our third destination, the coastal city of Da Nang, in December. This important destination has recently seen a tremendous upsurge in visitors, with a record-breaking 6.6 million tourists in 2017, all keen to experience the pristine beaches, crystal blue waters and breathtaking views of this city.”
Qatar Airways Country Manager for Kuwait, Fadi Hijazin said: “As a destination that is growing in popularity for Qatar Airways’ Kuwaiti passengers, we are delighted to celebrate this important milestone in Vietnam’s history.”
The Ambassador of Vietnam to the State of Kuwait, His Excellency Trinh Minh Manh said: “We are delighted to have welcomed around 30 per cent more Kuwaiti visitors to Vietnam this year than in previous years.
“We want to continue to encourage tourists from Kuwait to come and discover the many magnificent sights and attractions that Vietnam has to offer.”
Qatar Airways was the first Gulf carrier to commence operations to Ho Chi Minh City in 2007, and this was closely followed by the introduction of Hanoi in 2010. The airline currently operates a total of 63 weekly flights between Kuwait and Doha for passengers who wish to connect to these routes.
From Dec 19, 2018, the world’s fastest growing airline will launch four weekly direct flights from Doha to Da Nang on one of its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, featuring 22 seats in Business Class and a further 232 seats in economy.
Da Nang is one of a host of upcoming new global destinations recently announced by the airline, including Gothenburg, Sweden and Mombasa, Kenya.
With a modern fleet of more than 200 aircraft flying to business and leisure destinations across six continents, Qatar Airways was recently named ‘World’s Best Business Class’ by the 2018 World Airline Awards, managed by international air transport rating organisation, Skytrax. It was also named ‘Best Business Class Seat,’ ‘Best Airline in the Middle East,’ and ‘World’s Best First Class Airline Lounge.’
