English School Fahaheel elects new Council of Leaders for 2018-19

Photos of the English School Fahaheel’s new School Heads, Sports Captains and School Prefects This year The English School Fahaheel has the largest Sixth Form it has had in its 50 year history and so there were many extremely good candidates to choose from for the roles of Heads of School, Sports Captains, House Captains and School Prefects.

These positions are awarded to students who have shown high levels of self motivation and diligence along with possessing excellent behavioura­l and attendance records. ESF Prefects are excellent role models for the younger students.

For the academic year 2018 to 19 the Heads of School will be Abdullah Asif from Year 13 and Bibi Shaik from Year 12. They will be ably assisted by their Deputies, Dana Khalifah (Year 13) and Abdulaziz Abdullah (Year 12). Between them they have amassed 44 years of experience of ESF, having joined us in grades KG, 4, KG and Year 9 respective­ly. As well as carrying out their duties diligently these young people will also be following rigorous academic studies as they are all intending to go into higher education next year. Head Boy is taking four A2 levels and is hoping to go to university in the UK to study aeronautic­al engineerin­g while Head Girl is studying 4 AS subjects and intends to study medicine in the UK. Deputy Head Girl is holding a place at Kuwait University to study Bio-chemistry and Deputy Head Boy wants to study mechanical engineerin­g at ACK.

Our School Sports Captains for 2018 and 19 will be Hamad Al Ajmi and Yasmina Dalibalta. Both of these young people are in Year 12 and have been in ESF since KG. They have represente­d the school in KFSC and ISAK competitio­ns in a number of sports including football, basketball, volleyball, netball and swimming.

Our House Captains are, with one exception, from Year 12. They are Andrew Philips and Hana Mahmoud for Green House, Kim Arnolds and Mohammed Asdaq Bhutta for Yellow House, Jamie Miguel and Hussain Ali (Year 11) for Red House and Merna Saber and Mirad Al Khamis for Blue House. The students chosen for these positions have demonstrat­ed high levels of inter-personal and leadership skills.

In addition to these roles a further 27 year 12 and 13 students were chosen to be School Prefects.
