Cowboys RB Elliott fined
HOUSTON, Dec 2, (RTRS): The NFL Network reported Saturday that the league fined Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott $13,369 for his “donation” touchdown celebration to the Salvation Army on Thanksgiving.
Elliott highlighted the Salvation Army for the second time in three years by dropping $21 in the giant red kettle after scoring during the Cowboys’ win over the Washington Redskins. According to NFL Network’s report, he was fined for “unsportsmanlike conduct”, which includes putting quarterback Dak Prescott into the kettle later in the game.
The New York Jets placed safety Marcus Maye on injured reserve, ending his season.
The second-year pro has not played or practiced since injuring his shoulder in Week 10. He had previously played through a broken thumb, which happened Oct. 14 in just his third game this season after missing the first three with an ankle injury.
The Green Bay Packers activated wide receiver Jake Kumerow from injured reserved and placed defensive lineman Mike Daniels on IR, the team announced.
In additional moves, the Packers signed fullback Dan Vitale and placed WR Trevor Davis on IR.
Former NFL first-round draft pick Nick Fairley was arrested and charged with two counts of menacing.
Police in Mobile, Ala, told local television station Fox 10 that Fairley threatened someone with a gun. Police did not have further details. Both counts are misdemeanor charges. He was jailed briefly after being arrested Friday afternoon before posting bail.
