KUWAIT CITY, Dec 4: The Parcel Unit at Hateen Post Office found a piece of antiquity in a parcel sent from a GCC country to an Arab expatriate. The recipient is undergoing interrogation.
Meanwhile, officials at the Parcel Unit of Sadeeq Post Office detected immoral sexual materials inside a parcel containing clothing. The parcel has since been seized by concerned officials.
In another incident, Director of Land Customs at the General Customs Administration Meshan AlSa’eedi disclosed that customs officers at Abdali Border foiled an attempt by one Arab expatriate to smuggle 1.6 kilogram of shabu hidden in a truck to the country from Iraq. He revealed the scanning machine indicated the presence of illicit drugs, which prompted officers at the border to do manual inspection that lead to the discovery.
Head
of
the Encroachment Demolition Department at the Kuwait Municipality branch in the Capital Governorate Engineer Abdullah Jaber disclosed that Municipality officials issued 215 citations and 119 warnings in November, while the revenues collected totaled KD3,900, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
He said the citations were issued for various violations – 98 advertisements, 116 shop related issues and one for construction. This is in addition to demolition of 18 advertisement boards encroaching on public properties.
Department of Public Relations and Security Media at the Ministry of Interior revealed that firefighters from Mishref Fire Station on Sunday extinguished a fire that engulfed a car along King Fahad Expressway toward Ahmadi governorate. The fire did not extend to nearby structures and no casualties were reported.
