KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 6, (KUNA): Speaker of the Malaysian parliament Mohamad Arif on Thursday received a written invitation from his Kuwaiti counterpart, Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim, to visit Kuwait as soon as possible.
Kuwaiti Ambassador to Malaysia Saad Al-Asousi, who handed the message over to the Malaysian speaker, told KUNA that he conveyed greetings from Speaker Al-Ghanim to his Malaysian counterpart on the occasion of his recent assumption of the top legislative post. He also underlined depth of the bilateral parliamentary relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Al-Asousi added that Speaker Arif promised to respond to the invitation during first quarter of next year, affirming necessity of developing the distinctive relations between the two countries further.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received on Thursday UN Secretary General’s special envoy to Iraq and head of the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), Jan Kubis.
