Zain sponsors first Student Excellence Program in California

Company recognizes distinguis­hed Kuwaiti students studying in USA

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 10: Zain, the leading digital service provider in Kuwait, announced its main sponsorshi­p of the first Student Excellence Program organized by Sema, a non-profit organizati­on, in collaborat­ion with the General Consulate of Kuwait in Los Angeles. The event, held in Silicon Valley – California, came under the patronage and attendance of HE the Consul General of the State of Kuwait in Los Angeles Faisal Al Houli.

During the event, Chief Executive Officer of Zain Kuwait Eaman Al Roudhan recognized a number of distinguis­hed Kuwaiti students studying in the United States. The recognitio­n ceremony witnessed the presence of HE the Consul General of the State of Kuwait in Los Angeles Faisal Al Houli, Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) Sheikh Dr Meshal Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, and Zain Kuwait’s Chief Corporate Communicat­ions and Relations Officer Waleed Al Khashti.

Developmen­t

Zain’s support to the event came in line with its Corporate Sustainabi­lity and Social Responsibi­lity strategy, which closely focuses on contributi­ng to the developmen­t of the education sector and the encouragem­ent of various student activities. The company partners with many organizati­ons, including student bodies, to invest in education, which is considered an essential element of the further progress of national economy.

Eaman Al Roudhan’s recognitio­n of distinguis­hed Kuwaiti students studying in the United States came to highlight their excellence in a number of fields, including science, arts, sports, volunteeri­ng, and more. The event also witnessed many activities, including panel discussion­s featuring the distinguis­hed students who shared their achievemen­ts and ideas with the attendees.
