Rich ‘fashionistas’ under probe
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 12: The Ministry of Interior over the next few weeks is expected to reshuffle all security sectors, reports Al-Anba daily quoting ministry sources.
The reshuffle will include sending a number of assistant undersecretaries into retirement who have reached the legal retirement age. Their contracts are not expected to be renewed.
The sources noted the changes will include directors general and their assistants in a number of security institutions.
The sources pointed out, the ministry intends to appoint a number of officers who were earlier forced to retire as security directors in the Al-Jahra and the Capital governorates.
The sources indicated the organizational structure of the ministry includes the separation and integration in many security sectors to match with the performance and the tasks assigned to them.
The sources said the changes and promotions of officers are expected to become effective in January 2019.
Files not received:
The Public Prosecution has not received any file concerning the accounts of social media celebrities suspected of involvement in money laundering, reports Annahar daily quoting sources.
Sources revealed the defendants’ files are still with the Interior Ministry which investigates suspects before referring them to the prosecution.
Sources said these social media celebrities will be investigated to identify the source of money that exceeded KD1 million in the accounts of some fashion bloggers, popularly known as ‘fashionistas’.
Sources expect that the accounts of some defendants will be frozen until completion of the investigation or until the issuance of a decision on their cases, disclosing the defendants will appear before the prosecution next week.
