Education min ‘revises’ rules on transfer of student credits
FM en route to Washington on official mission
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 6, (KUNA): Kuwait’s Education Minister Dr Hamid Al-Azmi has approved new guidelines over academic credit transfer and accumulation systems for students pursuing postsecondary education abroad.
The new rules are meant to ensure a higher quality of education through regulating the process of academic credit transfer, the minister said in a statement on Wednesday.
The guidelines meet world-class standards in education to help Kuwait students excel in their academic careers, he added, promising similar reforms as part of an education overhaul.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, heading a seniorlevel delegation, departed the country on Wednesday flying to Washington on an official visit.
Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled’s delegation includes Ambassador Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the State of Kuwait Ambassador to the United States, Ambassador Sheikh Dr Nasser AlMohammad Al-Sabah, the Assistant Foreign Minister for the bureau affairs, Reem Mohammad AlKhaled, the Assistant Foreign Minister for the Two Americas, and a number of other ministry officials.
Entourage
He and his entourage were seen off by Ambassador Saleh Al-Loughani, the Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for the bureau affairs, Counsellor Abdulmohsen Jaber Al-Zaid, the Assistant Foreign Minister for Protocol and other senior personnel.
Furthermore, the Italian government and the diplomatic corps in Rome have bid farewell to outgoing Kuwaiti Ambassador and Dean of the Gulf Diplomatic Corps Sheikh Ali Khaled Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the occasion of ending his tenure and to his role in promoting bilateral relations in various fields.
The Kuwaiti embassy in Rome said in a statement that the Foreign Ministry held a special dinner in honor of Sheikh Ali which was attended by a number of senior diplomats last night.
Ambassador Al-Khalid received a special message from Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, expressing his high appreciation to his role, lauding his distinguished role and sincere efforts in consolidating the Italian-Kuwaiti friendship and cooperation relations at various levels.
The Kuwaiti diplomat thanked the Italian government for the hospitality extended to him during his stay in Italy which reflected the deep-rooted ties between the two countries.
