Kuwait Parliament dispatches delegations to friendly nations
Speaker in Cairo for Arab parliamentary meet
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 9, (KUNA): A Kuwaiti parliamentary friendship group, headed by MP Shuaib Al-Muwaizri, left on Saturday to the Czech Republic and Italy on a mission due on Feb 10-16.
“Al-Dustoor” news network said in a statement that the delegation included MPs Osama Al-Shahin, Saud Al-Shuair, Abdulwahab Al-Babtain and Majed AlMutairi.
The parliamentary delegation mission is part of efforts to boost Kuwait’s parliamentary diplomacy and develop the cooperation relations with parliaments of friendly states.
Another parliamentary friendship group, headed by MP Dr. Adel Al-Damkhi, went to South Korea and Sri Lanka on an identical mission of same schedule.
The delegation included MPs Abdullah Al-Enezi and Nayef Al-Merdas, the statement said.
Meanwhile, Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly (Parliament) Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim arrived in Cairo on Saturday for partaking in a scheduled joint meeting of the Arab Parliament and chairs of the Arab parliaments, in response to an invitation by the Arab Parliament President Dr. Meshaal Al-Salami.
His delegation includes MPs Ali AlDeqbasi, Askar Al-Enezi, Mohammad Al-Huwailah and Khaled Al-Otaibi.
They were welcomed upon arrival by the State of Kuwait Ambassador to Egypt Mohammad Al-Dhuwaikh, the Kuwaiti Permanent Delegate at the Arab League Ambassador Ahmad Al-Bakr and a number of diplomats.
The speaker flew in from Geneva, where he was seen off by the State of Kuwait Permanent Representative at the United Nations and International Organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Jamal AlGhunaim, and members of the Kuwaiti mission.
Speaker Al-Ghanim had taken part, during his presence in Geneva, in the First Meeting of the Preparatory Committee for the Fifth World Conference of Parliaments Speakers.
