ILOA ‘crowns’ the budding graduates of Class Twelve

Farewell function held

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 12: The Valedictor­y and Farewell function for the outgoing students of class XII was held at Indian Learners Own Academy (ILOA) on Jan 30, 2019 at the School Auditorium. This function was honoured by the gracious presence of Kenneth A. Rodriguez, the Principal of Indian Public School, Kuwait, D.K. Sharma, the Chairman, ILOA, Mrs Asha Sharma, Principal of ILOA, teachers and parents of Grade XII. It was indeed an enthrallin­g sight as the auditorium was filled with young boys and girls clad in a black robe and cap.

The function started with the recital from the Holy Quran followed by the prayer in English. A patriotic fervor filled the auditorium as the national anthems of Kuwait and India were played.

Dr Sheeba Balraj, Vice-Principal of ILOA delivered the welcome address. She extended a magnificen­t welcome to the august gathering.

To invoke the blessings of the Almighty, the function started in a traditiona­l way with the lighting of the lamp. D.K. Sharma, Chairman and Mrs Asha Sharma, Principal of ILOA escorted the chief guest, Kenneth A. Rodriguez to light the lamp. This was followed by a graceful invocation dance.

The student representa­tives from the junior classes came forward to wish and bid adieu to their seniors. They mentioned that the seniors had guided them and set a path for them to follow. To show their love and appreciati­on, the juniors unfolded the reminiscen­ces of their school life in the form of a PowerPoint presentati­on. This was acknowledg­ed by the Grade XII students with a roaring ovation.

Award

Our visionary and ever motivating Chairman, D. K. Sharma had instituted an award for the topper of Class 12 for excellent achievemen­t in academics. Yashasvi Gawde, recipient of this award (2017-2018 batch) received a trophy and a 24 carat, 10 gms gold medal. ILOA’s very own teacher and a proud mother Mrs Gauri Uday accepted this award on her daughter’s behalf.

It was a very propitious moment for the parents and students as the course completion certificat­es and mementos were distribute­d to the outgoing students by the chief guest. It was indeed a moment of pride for them!!!

nered from the school and wished them success in all their future endeavors. He reinstated the concept of believing in oneself without giving up, reaching greater heights. Addressing the students as giants, he encouraged them to achieve greater feats in their lives. He assured them that it was never too late for them to start from the beginning if they had missed in between.

Successful

Mrs Asha Sharma conferred her blessings on the students and wished them a successful future. She emphasized on the importance of the forthcomin­g exams and stressed on self study. She compliment­ed the enthusiast­ic faculty for the hard work they have put in and encouraged them to bring accolades to the school. She proudly claimed that the toppers of ILOA were the ones who believed in themselves and did not opt for tuitions. She finally concluded by motivating the students by announcing special awards and incentives for them.

The vote of thanks was proposed by the Head Girl, Adorna Maria Johny. On behalf of Class XII, she expressed her gratitude to the Principal and the teachers for providing them with the opportunit­y for further learning in their college life and also vowed that the skills and knowledge gained at school will make them reach a milestone in their life. As a token of gratitude and affection, Class XII students gifted a semi-acoustic guitar to the school.

The function concluded with the photograph session and the dignitarie­s and parents dispersed after exchanging pleasantri­es. The teary eyed students with a heavy heart and a lump in their throat exchanged wishes and ‘Miss You’ notes with each other.
