Boushahri promises power supply to secondary power stations in Wafra

Ministry to conduct random visits to monitor smart meter data

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 13: The Undersecre­tary of the Ministry of Electricit­y and Water, Mohammed Boushahri, has promised the voluntary committee of Wafra to ensure power supply to the secondary power stations in the area as soon as possible, reports Al-Anba daily.

This came during a meeting with a delegation from the committee which visited him in his office with a request to supply power to the secondary stations to offer services in the area.

In another context, the Ministry of Electricit­y and Water has launched a new campaign in cooperatio­n with the General Secretaria­t of the Supreme Council for Planning to study the comparativ­e consumer pattern among a group of randomly selected households.

The director of the of Energy Efficiency and Rationaliz­ation Department in the ministry said the campaign is organized under the name ‘Try it’ taking a random sample of homes to raise awareness of the importance of rational consumptio­n through the use of the latest technology, including smart meters installed in those homes.

During the campaign, the ministry team will conduct random visits to these houses, measure their consumptio­n through smart meter data and monitor the consumptio­n in the coming weeks. After the end of the campaign period, it will be clear through readings if the owner of the house is committed to saving electricit­y and water.
