The Kuwaiti Interior Ministry’s Acting Undersecre­tary Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf Al-Sabah’s remarks came amid his visit to the ministry’s forensic laboratory, where he got a close-up view of the DNA analysis used to identify the remains, according to a ministry statement.

Iraqi authoritie­s last week handed over to Kuwait the remains of 48 of its citizens who went missing after Iraq’s invasion of its neighbor and subsequent Gulf War 29 years ago.

DGCA denies report:

The Directorat­e-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has denied reports in the social media that Israeli airplanes from and to Thailand are crossing in Kuwait airspace, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The source told the daily that the pictures which are being circulated in the social media platforms are incorrect pointing out that the route of Israeli flights is through the Red Sea to the far south, and then turn towards India and Asian countries such as Thailand and others.

The approval for the increase of allowances and bonuses for military officers and non-commission­ed officers and other personnel is just around the corner, reports AlAnba daily.

The sources told the daily the Supreme Defense Council, headed by First Deputy Prime Minister and

Defense Minister Sheikh Nasser AlSabah said a memo regarding the increase of allowances for all military personnel in the three military establishm­ents, the army, the police and the National Guard, in addition to the firemen has been submitted to the Council of Ministers for final approval.

The sources pointed out the increase in allowances ranges between 150 and 800 dinars each according to the rank and the nature of his work.

It is also recommende­d that the reward of two years’ salary should be given instead of one year to all officers provided that the actual service period is 28 years upon retirement.
