Kingdom considered backbone of stability in region: Al-Ghanim
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 14: National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim has affirmed the exceptionally strong ties between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia; describing such relations as special, distinguished and historic between two brotherly nations and leaders.
In his interview with Al-Ekhbaria TV recently, Al-Ghanim said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is considered the backbone of stability in the region and any evil targeting the Kingdom is also targeting the entire region.
He pointed out that Kuwait participated in the Operation Decisive Storm to support the legitimate rule in Yemen, confirming the readiness of his country to engage in such operations alongside Saudi Arabia. He is hoping for the immediate end of war and return of legitimate rule in Yemen.
He highlighted the strong coordination and common views of the Kuwaiti and Saudi parliaments, asserting this played an important role in addressing many political conflicts. He said most problems can be settled in an amicable manner through meetings between senior officials in both countries.
Gratitude
He also expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for the efforts it has exerted in providing the best services to pilgrims. He regards the fact that the Two Holy Mosques are located in Saudi Arabia as one of God’s blessings, indicating no other country can provide such high quality of services to pilgrims the same way Saudi Arabia does.
Talking about the Palestinian cause, Al-Ghanim said “the Arab-Israeli military conditions are not in our favor, but it does not mean we have to remain silent.” He cited Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause for decades.
In another development, MP Abdullah Al-Kandari has submitted three proposals to establish entrance and exit points in some residential areas in order to address the traffic problems in these areas.
In his proposal, AlKandari suggested establishing an exit point in Jabriya leading to Morocco Road considering the traffic congestion in Surra, especially during rush hours.
He also recommended the establishment of an exit point in Surra to be linked with Morocco Road and then the entrance to the Fifth Ring Road, in addition to the entrance and exit points in Al-Salaam along the Fifth Ring Road.
Furthermore, MP Omar Al-Tabtabaei has submitted questions to Minister of Social Affairs Sa’ad AlKharaz about the number of expatriates who entered the country on work visa in the past three years and their qualifications, number of expatriate and Kuwaiti employees appointed during the same period and their qualifications, and number of Kuwaitis registered in the central employment system of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) within the same period and are still unemployed.
