KUWAIT CITY, Aug 15: The parliamentary activity resumes after the Eid Al-Adha holidays end by focusing on the most important issues to be included in the priorities for the next phase, reports AlAnba daily.

Sources said the Finance Committee of the National Assembly has informed the daily that the committee will soon start discussing all parliamentary proposals on amendments to the social security law, including the issue of pension and the reduction of the value of the good loan installment from 25 percent to 10 percent.

The sources added that the Committee will discuss the proposals with the Ministry of Finance, the Public Institute for Social Security and the relevant authorities, in addition to involving MPs in the debate to develop a final vision through which the issue can be resolved.

The sources pointed out that the Committee intends to finish the issue before the beginning of the next session to submit its report to the Parliament in preparation for agreement and approval by the government. The sources stressed that the Committee is very interested in achieving benefits for citizens, especially the retirees, as there are many amendments to the social security law, some of which did not do justice to this category of society.

Meanwhile, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and State Minister for Municipality Affairs Fahad Al-Shualah recently issued a ministerial decision on partial reshuffling of the directors of Municipality branches, reports Al-Rai daily.

The decision includes the appointment of Eng Thamer AlMetairie as Director of the Municipality branch in Jahra, Eng Fahad Al-Khrainaij in Mubarak Al-Kabeer and Eng Ahmad AlHazeim in Hawally; in addition to the transfer of Eng Mohammad Sarkhoh from Hawally to Farwaniya.

In the meantime, Al-Shualah affirmed his intention to address negative phenomena, especially the issue of bachelors residing in private houses and irregularities committed by expatriates in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. He said a governmental plan will be implemented soon to solve these problems, in coordination with the concerned authorities.
