Manhunt ‘launched’ for four Asians as Indian stabbed thrice, left to die

Egyptian trio arrested for stealing 40 phones

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 15: Police are looking four unidentifi­ed persons for stabbing an unidentifi­ed Indian in the chest, back and face and leaving him to die in a pool of blood, reports Al-Rai daily.

The incident was reported to the police by an unidentifi­ed Kuwaiti who happened to see the victim lying in a pool of blood, fighting for his life.

Acting on informatio­n personnel from the Emergency Medical Services affiliated to the Ministry of Health rushed to the scene of the crime and took the man to the intensive care unit of a hospital.

However, the Al-Anba daily said the victim has given to the police the names of four Asians who allegedly attacked him. The security authoritie­s have issued a travel ban against them.

Phone thieves caught:

Personnel from the Criminal Investigat­ion Department (CID) have arrested three Egyptians for breaking into shops and stealing 40 smart phones and money while the fourth man is believed to be still at large, reports Al-Rai daily.

Police have recovered some phones from the suspects while a large number of gadgets, they say, have been sold to unknown people.

The men reportedly targeted the shops in Al-Rai area on Aug 2, this year. They were arrested on suspicion after getting a search and arrest warrant from the Public Prosecutio­n.

When police viewed the CCTV footage of the cameras installed nearby, the men are seen looking at the CCTV cameras in a suspicious manner. Three of them kept a watch on the outside while the other two went about breaking into the shops.

There was one more man seen sitting next to the suspects, but he reportedly happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and has nothing to with the crime. The men are being interrogat­ed to check if they are involved in other thefts, the culprits in which cases are yet to be nabbed.

Detention extended:

The Criminal Court in Kuwait will soon look into the case of the suspect, identified only as K.H., who is accused of mastermind­ing the assassinat­ion of officials of Central System for Remedying the Status of Illegal Residents (CSRSIR) in Kuwait, reports Al-Anba daily.

On the other hand, the sentences renewal judge has ordered the continued detention of the 10 people accused of participat­ing in the sit-ins organized by bedoun in the Taima and Erada Square until August 25, to decided whether the men can be released on bail or not.

The defendants are Abdul Hakim Al-Fadhli, Yousef Bader, Abdullah Al-Fadhli, Ahmad Al-Ounan, Meteb Al-Ounan, Awad Al-Ounan, Ahmad Shaya, Jarallah Al-Fadhli, Hamed Jameel and Yousef Al-Bashiq.

The sentences renewal judge has also ordered to continue the detention until August 28 of another person for running the Atij al-Messian account on Twitter. Others accused in the case include a lawyer.

Drugs found in car:

The Kuwaiti citizen who had escaped arrest two days ago for shooting in the air with a gun and possessing drugs has been arrested. Fire broke out in the basement of a six-storied building in Farwaniya area. No casualties were reported.

Security sources explained that officers were patrolling Grenada area two days ago when they had suspected a motorist and ordered him to pull over. However, the suspect shot in the air and sped off. Officers chased him until Jahra area where he abandoned his vehicle and managed to run away. Securityme­n checked his vehicle and found drugs and drug parapherna­lia.

They then conducted investigat­ions and managed to identify the suspect. They discovered that he is involved in several cases. Capital securityme­n then arrested him from his house in Capital Governorat­e, and

took necessary action to refer him to the Public Prosecutio­n.

Kuwaiti, Syrian fight:

A quarrel broke out between two Kuwaiti citizens and four Syrian workers of a car-repair garage in Fahaheel Industrial Area.

According to security sources, an argument broke out between them in the garage over fixing a car, which quickly developed into a fistfight. A traffic officer was patrolling the area when he saw the quarrel, and immediatel­y rushed in to settle it. He then took the suspects to Fahaheel Police

Station for necessary legal action.

Blasphemer sought:

A video went viral on social media in which a woman can be seen offending Allah.

In a press release, the Public Relations and Security Media Department of Ministry of Interior explained that the Cybercrime Division of Criminal Security Sector is conducting investigat­ions to identify the woman in the video clip, and take legal measures accordingl­y. The department revealed that necessary legal action will be taken after she is arrested and referred to the concerned authoritie­s.
