Kuwait table tennis team head to Budapest

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 15: Kuwait Table Tennis National Team leaves Kuwait today, heading to Budapest, Hungary where they will hold a two-week camp to prepare for the upcoming Asian and Arab competitio­ns.

The delegation is headed by Deputy Board Chairman Khalid AlKhudari and it consists of 20 players of different ages.

Al-Khudari expressed gratitude to the Public Authority for Sport for its support, stressing that this kind of support helps Kuwait Table Tennis Associatio­n to develop the technical and physical abilities of players in order to have the best achievemen­ts in the coming competitio­ns.

He pointed out the Board of Directors headed by Ali Al-Dabbous and members of concerned committees are working hard to develop Kuwaiti table tennis.

He also praised the support of the players’ parents during the twomonth long camp held in Kuwait.

On the other hand, coach of the team Sabri Al-Jama’an disclosed the players will have two training sessions daily – morning and afternoon, in addition to a number of friendly matches and joint training sessions with the national teams of other countries that are in Budapest during the same period. Katai was handed a red card for elbowing Portland’s Julio Cascate in the face in the 30th minute after a video review.
