Govt instructs PAAAFR to expedite distribution of sites for fish farming
Economic crisis looming on horizon
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 18: The Council of Ministers has instructed Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fisheries Resources (PAAAFR) to quickly complete the necessary procedures for the distribution of appropriate sites for fish and shrimp farming for the beneficiaries not later than Aug 30, reports Al-Anba daily quoting reliable sources.
The daily had reported on July 23 that the distribution of the sites would be made to eligible beneficiaries in accordance with controls and by public lottery. This will accelerate the government mechanism in terms of priority before the Parliament begins its next session in October.
Informed sources told the daily, the government in particular wants to end the issue of conflict of interest which is one of the basic requirements necessary to complete the legislative system in cases of combating all forms, types and methods of corruption.
The sources pointed out that work is being completed now between the concerned legal authorities to speed up the work of issuing a new governing law to end the conflicts of interest in line with the Constitution and consistent with the provisions of other laws and complement the current legislation.
Experts have warned of a financial crisis in future which could hit the local economy after the emergence of non-promising economic indicators in both developed and emerging markets, indicating that the global economy may enter a recession, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The experts said Kuwait is also prone to repercussions of any crisis that affects the global economy, because its economy is linked to the big global economies and depends heavily on the revenues from oil, which is usually negatively affected during global economic crises and witnesses a sharp decline in prices.
