Al-Dallal says surprised by reports containing govt demands

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 24: The government is preparing to face the upcoming parliamentary heat, but a plan prepared by the Ministry of State for National Assembly Affairs, is aimed at achieving political stability between the executive and legislative branches, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Ministerial sources told the daily it is a long-term plan spanning from 2020 to 2025 and includes strategic objectives to support stability and accelerate the implementation of legislation to realize the vision of the State of Kuwait with total efficiency and effectiveness in the administrative system.

On the other hand, the MPs have reiterated that they will not shy away from using the interrogation tool during the next round, especially with regard to populist files, saying the government seriousness in the processing of these files is the real test.

MP Saleh Ashour told the daily that accountability in the event of failure of some ministers to take the necessary measures to address the issues that fall under their responsibilities will be the right option in the next session saying issues such as employment and improving the standard of living of citizens is a top priority of the National Assembly.

MP Mohammed Al-Dallal pointed to the issue of employment and encouraging Kuwaiti workers to work in the private sector, considering that the government does not have a real vision in this regard, as evidenced by the government report which was published by the daily.

Al-Dallal said he is surprised by the report published by the Al-Qabas daily which contained demands to stop the movement of Kuwaitis from the government to the private sector, considering the report contradicts the general trend of the State and the repeated demands of the MPs to encourage Kuwaitis to work in the private sector, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Al-Dallal told the daily it is clear to him that the government does not have a plan of action or a real vision in the employment file of citizens in the private sector, but there are several steps in this direction that do not go well with the actual plan because it includes clear recommendations for the Kuwaitis to work in the private.

He stressed that the private sector currently repels Kuwaitis and this brings about significant negative effects on the state financially and developmentally, and weakens the sector and does not benefit from the nationals in the area of development, which confirms the absence of proper planning to manage this file.
