‘Differences to cause instability’

‘Human resources backbone of nation’

-

“MONEY alone will not make a state, rather it can improvise both the minds and the wise policies that are used to measure the level of luxury of the people and their abilities to react and produce in addition to their balanced regional and international relations,” columnist and former director of Culture Department at the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters,

wrote for daily. “Not only that, but the progress of these states will not necessarily be horizontally-based but it will be deep and horizontal cemented with good reputation at the international level among the peoples of the world in addition to their self-development.

“We in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states will have no option, but to improve our relations with each other. In other words, we have to hold ourselves above the differences and benefit from the experiments of other nations of the world if we want to avert regional mistakes which currently surround us – mistakes which impede the process of development and put a dent in the national and regional security and help weaken the national front.

“In this context, we say we are likely to face some differences here and there among the ruling powers due to certain policies or may be due to contradictory interests, but we will not be able to see those differences among the peoples so we say these differences will be illogical if they affect the values of the peoples and the fraternity linking these peoples and the exchange of benefit and peace simultaneously.

“It is needless to say the protraction of the differences among the GCC states are likely to develop into an unclean media war which will lead to congestion and the people are likely to be affected by the relevant data irrespective whether the latter is true or counter propaganda aimed at involving the peoples in the struggles happening among the ruling regimes, given the fact this shall cause a state of antagonism among the peoples in the region although the relations among the citizens of the Gulf are of a special dimension in view of the kinship, lineage and the social bonds linking them.

“Such being the case, we be- lieve that the media in the region is forced to take part in the relevant struggle, but the peoples are innocent of any type of antagonism against each other.

“In spite of the above, these people are likely to be misguided by the media in general and the social media in particular, because the latter has been transformed into a significant party in the relevant struggle and this was evident through the publication of some rumors and attacks under elusive names and forged accounts who work in favor or against some of the ruling regimes.

“Certainly, the intrusion of the people in the game of the prominent figures through the media and propaganda, is the most dangerous aspect in terms of the differences among the states, because political differences have to end one day, but it is needless to say the effect of these differences on the people are likely to last longer or may even be passed on from one generation to another.

“Meanwhile, we say the attitude of the states which call for solving or settling these differences which are promoted through the media propaganda should actually attempt to ease congestion and tension among the peoples and call on the latter to follow the example of these states in terms of dealing with the differences as differences among the ruling regime sans their contradictory interests.

“As a matter of fact, there is no difference that has no solution or solutions, but it goes without saying that the stubbornness and arrogance, will not bring stability and peace, particularly when we know that we are living on the hot tin roof particularly when we know our region is the world storage of wealth and as such, the differences in question, whether we accept or not, will cause a state of internal instability and to get rid of this we must live in cooperation, solidarity and reconciliation by giving priority to the interests of the peoples not narrow governments interests.”

“Many people who are agitating sedition may be they know nothing about the blood relationship that links us with the peoples in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states in general and our elder sisterly country – the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in particular,” columnist wrote for daily.

“This blood relationship has resulted in the State of Kuwait insisting to achieve solidarity, reunion and the adoption of a neutral attitude in the Gulf in spite of the present and persistent exorbitant price which is paid by the State of Kuwait.

“In this context, we elucidate that the State of Kuwait recently incurred a salvo of political provocation either through the so-called ‘electronic flies’ or through the traditional media which has deviated from the morals of the Gulf people to such an extent they unlike before are currently dealing sarcastically with the attitude of the State of Kuwait in the face of the Gulf crisis.

“In other words, these people have raised their ceiling against Kuwait by mentioning the country by name in the context of their allegations. This happens, although I hope this ceiling will not reach a higher level in the near future.

“One of these people, wondered, ‘if the option will be opened in future for the one who is wearing the neutral silk gloves but concealing it inside his poisonous poniard.

“However, although this context has non-fraternal intentions written all over it, in spite of the above, we have to presume here that the same is rife with goodwill and then we have to respond by saying ‘if the State of Kuwait is concealing its poisonous poniard’, then it would have not been exposed to what has been actually exposed for the sake of serving its nationalistic and Islamic belonging.

“But in spite of the above, the State of Kuwait has shown all forbearance in dealing with the same and it has gone beyond all the campaigns currently waged on it by some Arab newspapers and Satellite TV channels.

“Certainly, the State of Kuwait which has sharpened its sword of neutrality, foremost against itself as well as against some of its sons and referred them to the courts (just some of Kuwaiti tweeters and writers) is to defend the homeland against such campaigns.

“It is the State of Kuwait which has taken the initiative towards Yemen to defend their brothers in the Arab coalition which was formed to support the legitimate Yemeni government motivated by its belief in its Gulf, Arab and Islamic principles.

“It is the State of Kuwait, which has always been keen to project its attitude of defending the country of the Two Holy Mosques even at the international forums and this was extremely obvious through the attitude of the Speaker of the Kuwaiti Parliament Mr Marzouq Al-Ghanim during the Arab Parliamentary Conference. It is the testimony of the Kuwaiti attitude towards its Gulf and Arab brothers.”

“MP Ali Al-Deqbasi recently announced his intention to submit a number of parliamentary questions to the State Minister for Housing Affairs and Minister of Public Works Dr Jinan Boushahri concerning the obstacles facing the project for establishment of South Saad Al-Abdullah Residential City”,

wrote for daily. “He also wants confirmation that the State is capable of establishing big cities such as Sabah Al-Ahmad and Al-Mutla residential cities. He is seeking for all obstacles in South Saad Al-Abdullah City to be overcome, as it is of big importance to the citizens and can deal with many problems facing Kuwaiti families who are suffering from rents and have been waiting for a long time for a house.

“Al-Deqbasi is right, as there is no reason for the postponement and delay of achievements of major projects that citizens are waiting for. The State has achieved huge success over the last few years in terms of completing projects such as roads, bridges, residential cities, and new hospitals as well as renovation of the existing installations.”

“At a time when Palestinian people are angry and their President Mahmoud Abbas is upset and bothered by the bloody and inhumane practices of Israel and decides to respond by ending the agreement with them, we notice a rise in the enthusiasm of some Arabs and their rush to the Israeli embrace,”

wrote for daily. “Without any reservation, shame or any consideration of facing embarrassment in front of our Arab friends, Israel has launched the project of demolishing the houses of Jerusalemites under alleged justifications.

“Apart from the above, Israel has been raising a slogan of a project called “The train of prosperity” linked with GCC countries passing through Jordan and Iraq, regardless of the expected Arab popular anger.

“It means, the more friendly and kind Arabs will be to Israel, the more Israel will be aggressive towards the Palestinians to expand in its dream documented by the two blue lines - Nile River and Al-Furat River.”

“The situation is catastrophic in the strict sense of the word. Highways are dying, while internal streets in and around the districts are not usable. However, we do not find the Ministry of Public Works doing anything except what we hear about signing of contracts to modernize these roads, without seeing any trucks working on those roads,” columnist wrote for daily.

“What is the ministry waiting for in order to start upgrading and replacing asphalt on all dilapidated roads? Why delay the restoration of these roads that are directly and indirectly causing loss of lives and huge material losses which have exhausted citizens as a result of the breakdown of their cars while driving along worn out roads?!

“We hope one of the officials will drive his car and inspect these roads to see with his own eyes the conditions of the roads in Kuwait which used to be the model in previous years.”

“The Arab world has been talking about trade cooperation among Arab countries since inception of the Arab League, but where is the trade and economic cooperation among Arab countries?” columnist

wrote for daily. “We talk too much about Arab unity and solidarity to ensure unification of position, fate and market among Arabs, but the subject remains wishful thinking till date. What is the role of the Arab League and Arab Parliamentary Union in enlarging the coast of joint Arab actions? What are the Arab officials and economists doing about activating the joint Arab market?

“Whoever notices the volume and varieties of wealth and natural resources in Arab countries, coupled with the geographical link as well as homogenous history and language will realize that the common market system not only provides excellent economic, social and political atmosphere but also creates political and negotiable environments which cannot be overemphasized. This necessitates expediting activation of the common Arab market.”

“I do not exaggerate if I openly admit that the textbook is experiencing a crisis which has never been seen before. Everyone should recognize the crisis as the first step towards solving it and saving the textbook,” columnist wrote for

daily. “In the past, the textbook was the only source of information for students in all educational levels. It had a prestigious status among students, guardians or educational leaders.

“But now we are in the era of availability that allows full excess to information through various methods and the possibility of getting updated information with just one press, thereby, making the textbook lose its status.

“I raised this point by myself when UNESCO assigned me to analyze the contents of the curricula in all educational levels concerning AIDS and the challenges we should overcome to develop the curricula and the textbook.”

“A wise Chinese man said: ‘To build a sturdy house, you have to make sure that the foundations are strong and solid,’” columnist wrote for

daily. “On this context, before making any new move, we have to step back to determine those who contributed to wastage of public funds or caused financial disasters in light of using accounting tools along with the reward and punishment system, combating corruption and enhancing transparency.

“Yes … before facing all kinds of challenges, we should solve files and issues which have been postponed for many years and affected the daily life of citizens who paid the price for the tension and aggravation between the two authorities during the tenure of successive legislatures.”
