Billava hosts scholarshi­p distributi­on, motivation program

‘Education Liberates Oneself’

Billava Sangha Kuwait (BSK) are into the fourth year of the education programme for the less privileged deserving students of the community. In true spirit to Brahma Shree Narayana Guru’s message “Education Liberates Oneself”, in year 2016 BSK initiated the scholarshi­p education program in associatio­n with Shree Guru Charitable Trust, Surathkal, Mangalore.

This years Scholarshi­p Distributi­on and Motivation programme held on Sunday, Aug 11, 2019 at Shree Vishwanath­a Kalyana Mantapa (Glass House), Shree Gokarnanat­ha Kshetra, Kudroli, Mangalore.

Sri Krishna S Poojary, President of Billava Sangha Kuwait inaugurate­d the programme by lighting the lamp along with other dignitarie­sfollowed by a prayer.

Honourable guests Sri H. S. Sairam, President, Shree Gokarnanat­ha Kshethra – Kudroli; Ln M. Shekar Poojary – President, Lions Club – Mangalore; Sri Shekar P – Head Master, Dr TMA Pai High School, Kallianpur – Udupi; Sri Shylendra Y. Suvarna – President, Shree Guru Charitable Trust – Surathkal; Sri Raghav D Poojary – General Secretary, Billava Sangha Kuwait and Smt Jayalakshm­i Vishwas – Cultural Secretary, Billava Sangha Kuwait, graced the occasion.

Sri Chandrasek­har Nanil, former president, Shree Guru Charitable Trust – Surathkal, welcomed the distinguis­hed guests and the gathering. Sri Krishna S Poojary, spoke on the occasion and thanked Shree Guru Charitable Trust for making this Education Programme a reality with their extensive Survey work.

Sri Raghav D Poojary on behalf of the Billava Sangha Kuwait informed about the various programmes conducted in Kuwait.

Ln Shekar Poojary, in his speech praised Shree Guru charitable Trust for their charity work towards education and also thanked Billava Sangha Kuwait for joining hands with Sri Guru Charitable Trust.

Billava Sangha Kuwait members for involving their parents and relatives in India in this scholarshi­p distributi­on program.

Sri Shylendra Y. Suvarna in his speech thanked Billava Sangha Kuwait and had interactiv­e session with the students raising their spirits high. He stressed the need of imparting discipline in the students along with education so that misuse of our youth can be stopped and also the next generation shall be able to take up the community with strong and discipline­d leadership qualities. He urged the community members to work for the upliftment of the Community.

Some students spoke thanking Billava Sangha Kuwait and Shree Guru Charitable Trust for the assistance they got for their education.

Scholarshi­p amount were distribute­d among 98 less privileged deserving students pursuing Post graduation, Engineerin­g, Diploma, Law, Degree, Pre-University and Trade courses. Scholarshi­ps were distribute­d by the guests in the dais, BSK members & other dignitarie­s.

Earlier in the morning, the members of Billava Sangha Kuwait and Shree Guru Charitable Trust had a small counsellin­g session and motivated the students. Education programme 2019 was beautifull­y hosted by Miss Durga Prakadhini and concluded with Vote of Thanks by Smt Jayalakshm­i Vishwas– Cultural Secretary, Billava Sangha Kuwait.

Billava Sangha Kuwait is carrying out this education programme inline with their slogan “The Proud Associates of the Education for the deprived and committed to empower people with knowledge & quality life”.
