ACK visits oldest Chevrolet showroom in Kuwait
Students get practical knowledge on field trip
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 24: As part of the Strategic Marketing course in the Bachelor of Business (Management) Program at the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK), the College arranged a field visit for its students to Yusuf Ahmed Alghanim & Sons Auto Showroom in Sharq Industrial Area, which is the oldest Chevrolet showroom in Kuwait. Established in 1932, Yusuf Ahmed Alghanim & Sons is the exclusive dealer in Kuwait for Chevrolet and Cadillac vehicles.
The students listened to Mujeeb Adnan, Showroom Manager, present a general definition of the company and its excellence in the Gulf region by providing the best customer service and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction. It won the first Gold Award for General Motors (GM) service in the region and succeeded in the GM Chairman’s Challenge, which is an annual award given when reaching perfect achievements in sales and customer service. Dr Sam Toglaw, Assistant Professor – Marketing at ACK, presented a practical explanation of the competitive environment analysis in Kuwait, known as PESTEL Analysis, in light of the current market changes, stressing ACK’s interest in Applied Project-Based Learning (PBL) and its close association with the market, and with the practical reality that students will confront when they graduate.
Within the practical procedures of identifying the points of marketing excellence, the students inspected the new models of Chevrolet cars and compared them with their competitors, most notably the new Silverado and the new SUV Blazer. The audience listened to the recommendations and interventions of the college students regarding the strategic analysis of the influencing factors and market segments in the State of Kuwait.
