KOC expected to issue ‘tough’ decisions soon

-

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 1: The Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) is expected to issue what it called ‘tough’ decisions soon relate to a number of files, which are being investigated with the concerned workers away from nepotism and interventions, reports Al-Rai daily quoting informed sources.

The same sources pointed out that the work of some investigation committees has almost been completed and that each file will be dealt individually according to procedures laid down by the law commensurate with the nature of each file and the results of investigations.

The sources revealed among the most prominent files, according to sources, are concerning the appointments of the sons of senior officials and others related to projects and internal administrative procedures.

The sources pointed out that the executive management in the oil sector follows each file closely, and provides absolute support for the accountability of any employee whatever his position.

The sources stressed that the investigation committees in KOC has confirmed the follow-up and selfcorrection by the company without the courtesy of anyone, and without covering up any one, which enhances the pace of institutional work and strict internal control that will investigate any action, or a malfunction if and when detected.

The decisions are expected to be firm and will be similar to those taken during earlier investigations, including cases of dismissal and cases of transfer to the Anti-Corruption Commission (Nazaha), sources said, adding that “strict decisions are expected against some officials in the near future.”

The sources stressed that the employees are constantly warned to abide by the instructions and laws governing the sector, and to ensure that any violation or defect will not go unpunished.
