Traffic accident gives away two siblings for crossing border illegally in car trunk

Indian worker steals Kuwaiti sponsor’s KD 600,000 worth watches

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 1: A Kuwaiti and his brother have been referred to the Public Prosecutio­n for interrogat­ion – one for leaving the country illegally by hiding in the trunk of the car and the other for driving the man out of the country, reports Al-Rai daily.

The incident came to light after the brother was involved in a traffic accident inside Saudi Arabia several kilometers away from the Kuwaiti-Saudi borders.

A report was received about the accident and border securityme­n by personnel from the Emergency Medical Services affiliated to the Ministry of Health transporte­d the injured to the hospital by air ambulance.

When the procedures were being completed at the hospital the authoritie­s discovered the man had left the country illegally because a travel ban was issued on him upon orders from the Ministry of Justice in July 2018 and the man left Kuwait in May 2019.

During interrogat­ion the man admitted from his hospital bed that he left the country with the help of his brother hiding in the trunk of the car.

The source added after the Search and Investigat­ion checked the CCTV footage they discovered his brother also left the country on the same day and during interrogat­ion he admitted to driving his brother out of the country.

An investigat­ion has also been opened to check who was on duty on that day and punish those who failed in their duty to prevent the wanted man from leaving the country.

Indian steals watches:

Police have arrested an unidentifi­ed Indian for stealing five expensive watches from his sponsor believed to be worth KD 600,000, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added the arrest came after the sponsor filed a complaint with the Al-Zour Police Station. He also told police the chalet, from where the watches were stolen is fully secured with the CCTV cameras.

When police checked the CCTV footage they saw the suspect with the box containing the watches, looking right and left in a suspicious manner and leaving with the box. He is seen returning after a few minutes and pretending as if nothing had happened.

The worker was confronted and during interrogat­ion he admitted to committing the theft. He also showed the place where he had hidden the watches, which were then returned to the owner after he produced the purchase document. The Indian has been referred to the Public Prosecutio­n.

Expat trio caught drunk:

Three persons a Kenyan man, two women – an American, and a Briton – have been arrested for possessing and drinking alcohol, reports Al-Rai daily.

The arrest came after the Kenyan driving a Japanese car collided with a concrete barrier in Abu Halifa following which they were taken to a hospital where it was discovered that the three were under the influence of alcohol.

Police have also seized from their car a bottle of foreign liquor and referred them to the concerned authority.

Disappoint­ed thief:

Police are looking for an unidentifi­ed person who allegedly sneaked into a money exchange company under the cover of darkness by breaking the glass of the toilet window and left through the same way disappoint­ed because he could not open the safe, reports Al-Rai daily.
