KUWAIT CITY, Sept 8, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah received a congratula­tory letter from His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the occasion of the fifth anniversar­y of the UN honoring of His Highness the Amir as “Humanitari­an Leader” and the State of Kuwait as an “Internatio­nal Humanitari­an Center”.

In his cable, His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince expressed pride by UN recognitio­n of His Highness the Amir, praying to Almighty Allah to bestow upon him an everlastin­g health and wellness.

His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince also prayed Almighty Allah to provide His Highness the Amir with his support to achieve all his ambitions and comprehens­ive modern renaissanc­e in all spheres of life in Kuwait, coupled with greater security and prosperity.

In a reply cable, HH the Amir thanked HH the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince for his sincere feelings and noble sentiments.

HH the Amir affirmed that this exceptiona­l UN honoring reflected Kuwait’s internatio­nal status and pioneering role in the adoption of humanitari­an initiative­s to help people affected by conflicts, wars and natural disasters.

Meanwhile, Kuwait’s top lawmaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim on Sunday wished HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah well five years after the United Nations christened him a “Humanitari­an Leader.”

In a letter addressed to HH the Amir, Al-Ghanim said he is confident that Kuwait’s altruistic and humanitari­an endeavors will continue unabated, attributin­g the internatio­nal recognitio­n the Gulf state has attained to HH the Amir’s dedication.

Al-Ghanim wrote that HH the Amir’s political career is dotted with milestone achievemen­ts, while his infinite wisdom and shrewd diplomacy have allowed the country to remain firmly on the path towards prosperity.

In reply, HH the Amir thanked Al-Ghanim for the warm sentiments, saying the UN moniker proves that Kuwait’s efforts to assist those less fortunate have garnered the country admiration from the internatio­nal community.

Whether it is the victims of conflicts or natural disasters, Kuwait has never failed to respond when humanity beckons, HH the Amir wrote, wishing the country continued growth and success.

In the meantime, HH the Amir received a congratula­tory letter Sunday from the President of Kuwait National Guard (KNG) His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah on the fifth anniversar­y of UN honoring of HH the Amir as “Humanitari­an Leader” and the State of Kuwait as “Internatio­nal Humanitari­an Center”.

Congratula­ted

In his cable, HH Sheikh Salem Al-Ali congratula­ted HH the Amir, on behalf of the Deputy Chairman of the National Guard Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and all National Guard officers, on the anniversar­y.

He added that the UN recognitio­n was something that all Kuwaitis should be proud of since it cements Kuwait’s position as a bastion of humanity.

The National Guard chief wished HH the Amir good health and wellbeing.

In turn, HH the Amir sent a reply cable to HH Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah thanking him for his kind words and sentiments.

In the cable, HH the Amir said Kuwait has been active in humanitari­an action and initiative­s, which aimed at helping the needy and those affected by conflicts and disasters.

HH the Amir also wished HH Sheikh Salem Al-Ali good health and well-being.

HH the Amir received a congratula­tory letter Sunday from His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber AlMubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on the fifth anniversar­y of the UN designatio­n of the State of Kuwait “Center of Humanitari­an Action” and honoring His Highness with the title, “Leader of Humanitari­an Action.”

HH the Prime Minister expressed, on behalf of himself and the ministers, most sincere greetings for the “unpreceden­ted title” accorded to His Highness, manifestin­g great pride and gratitude “for your grand role and explicit contributi­ons in the humanitari­an action, as well as your march, rich in giving, relieving the stricken, victims of injustice and refugees.”

With such deeds, Kuwait has become an example to be followed in humanitari­an and charitable action,

occupying a high-esteem status drawing admiration and respect of all nations.

HH the Amir sent a letter in reply to HH the Prime Minister, expressing deep gratitude for the good sentiments on the fifth occasion of the UN designatio­ns for His Highness and the State of Kuwait.

HH the Amir, in the reply letter, has affirmed that the State of Kuwait relentless action for relieving the stricken peoples due to conflicts, wars and natural catastroph­es has drawn appreciati­on of the whole internatio­nal community.

Also, HH the Amir received a congratula­tory cable from His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah marking the occasion of the fifth anniversar­y of UN honoring of HH the Amir as “Humanitari­an Leader” and the State of Kuwait as an “Internatio­nal Humanitari­an Center”.

In his cable, HH Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad expressed his delight over such recognitio­n, wishing HH the Amir continued success as his noble endeavors continue to have an impact on the lives of people all over the world.

In return, HH the Amir sent HH Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad a reply cable, expressing his sincere thanks and appreciati­on for the kind words and sentiments.

HH the Amir affirmed that this exceptiona­l UN honoring reflected Kuwait’s internatio­nal status and pioneering role in the adoption of humanitari­an initiative­s to help people affected by conflicts, wars and natural disasters.

Also, HH the Amir’s immense contributi­ons towards humanitari­an causes have placed Kuwait in the upper echelons of the internatio­nal

community, said an official on Sunday.

Some five years after HH the Amir was christened “Humanitari­an Leader” by the United Nations, the Governor of the Capital Governorat­e Sheikh Talal Al-Sabah said that “no words can adequately describe” his elation over the accolade.

HH the Amir’s UN moniker is well-deserved given how his prolific career was devoted to the betterment of humanity, the Kuwaiti official emphasized.

The recognitio­n HH the Amir has received from the biggest intergover­nmental body in the world will forever stand the test of time, he added, describing it as the highlight of his career and something that all Kuwaitis should be proud of.

He went on to wish the country continued prosperity and success under the watchful eye of HH the Amir.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Internatio­nal Islamic Charitable Organizati­on (IICO) and Adviser at the Amiri Diwan Dr Abdullah AlMaatouq affirmed on Sunday that tomorrow (Sept 9) would remain an inspiring, annual and historic occasion for generation­s and a testament to Kuwait’s humanitari­an identity.

In a statement on eve of the fifth anniversar­y of crowning HH the Amir, as “Leader of Humanitari­an Action,” and naming Kuwait as the “Center for Humanitari­an Action,” by the United Nations, he said the internatio­nal honoring constitute­s an unpreceden­ted event and a worldwide testament to the pioneering Kuwaiti philanthro­py.

This internatio­nal initiative toward Kuwait will remain a source of pride, he said, affirming the resolve to continue to develop and institutio­nalize the national charitable

sector.

“History of HH the Amir is rich in many stances and humanitari­an initiative­s that raised Kuwait’s status aloft at internatio­nal quarters,” he said, noting that HH’ approach has contribute­d to adding the humanitari­an aspect to the State external policies.

Moreover, the Amiri Diwan adviser noted HH plays a significan­t role for boosting global security, peace and co-existence among nations of the globe. He also noted admiration of HH by diverse internatio­nal organizati­ons and agencies, namely those involved in relieving afflicted peoples of the globe.

Meanwhile, Minister of Informatio­n Mohammad Al-Jabri has stated that the 2014 UN honoring of HH the Amir was well-deserved and a recognitio­n of Kuwait’s great record of humanitari­an activities.

In a press statement issued Sunday of the occasion of the fifth anniversar­y of the UN honoring of HH the Amir, Al-Jabri, also minister of state for youth affairs, hailed the prevailing love and respect of His Highness the Amir across the world.

There is no global consensus on the love of a leader similar to that of His Highness the Amir who revived and still is promoting the common human values, he said.

He described HH the Amir as a leader of initiative­s and a man who guides the world towards the better future for humanity.

“His Highness the Amir is a mirror through which everyone sees hisher human soul which hates oppression whatever its kind or cause,” he said.

Minister Al-Jabri said that the UN honoring of HH the Amir was a source of pride for all Arabs and Muslims and a recognitio­n of all positive sentiments towards humans who suffer anywhere.
