Baghli ‘disappearance’:
Ministry of Interior Undersecretary Lieutenant General Essam Al-Nahham recently discussed with Romanian Ambassador to Kuwait Daniel Tanase the disappearance of Muhammad AlBaghli, a Kuwaiti, in Romania in 2015.
During the meeting, Al-Nahham stressed the importance of addressing this issue. He lauded the efforts exerted by Romanian authorities to unravel the mystery behind Al-Baghli’s disappearance. He also affirmed the strategic relations between the two friendly countries.
On the other hand, Tanase expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and care given to the Romanian diplomatic delegation in Kuwait.
In another development, Al-Nahham also met Ambassador of South Korea to Kuwait Hong Youngki and they discussed issues of mutual concern. Hong confirmed the strong relationship between Kuwait and South Korea while praising the role of Kuwait in maintaining security and peace. Fake commodities: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry carried out a series of campaigns targeting fake commodities which endanger the environment, health and economy. In a press statement, the ministry disclosed that it gave a grace period of three weeks for erring shop owners to dispose the fake commodities in order to avoid legal consequences which include closing the establishment.
The ministry added such campaigns are not limited to clothes and shoes as they cover many other products like computer programs, spare parts and others.
The ministry went on to say that distribution of fake commodities is an intellectual property crime, confirming the issuance of directives to printing shops to stop printing labels for irrelevant entities.
Hawkers targeted:
The Public Relations Department in Kuwait Municipality announced that the Municipality branch in Farwaniya Governorate carried out a campaign against hawkers in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Riggae, Ardhiya and Farwaniya.
In a press statement, the department disclosed the campaign led to issuance of 11 citations to hawkers for violating Municipality laws, in addition to confiscating eight lorries of goods from makeshift markets.
