Counterfeit items seized:
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry recently discovered a large number of counterfeit T-shirts and sportswear in a store in Hawally.
In a press statement, the ministry disclosed inspectors from Jabriya Center raided the store after obtaining information from a reliable source.
This led to the confiscation of 7,300 counterfeit T-shirts and 2,083 others which are ready for printing with imitation brand names.
A case was registered and the store was shut down while the owner was referred to the Commercial Prosecution Department.
Trucker steals goods:
An unidentified trucker delivering goods to Iraq has been charged with betrayal of trust, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily said he is said to have escaped with three million Iraqi dinars (about 750 Kuwaiti dinars) and electrical appliances which he was supposed to deliver to the people in the city of Zubair.
The victims have been trying to contact the man for over a month but to no avail.
Complaints department:
Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Fahd Al-Shoula, has issued a circular to re-activate the complaints and suggestions department of his office in the Municipality, reports Al-Rai daily.
In his circular, Al-Shoula has directed the Department of Complaints and Suggestions to receive citizens’ complaints and respond to their inquiries before referring them to the concerned department in the Municipality, take all necessary measures to deal with those complaints and respond to them as soon as possible.
He has asked all Municipality sectors and departments to cooperate with the administration, facilitate its work, and quickly respond to queries received by them and facilitate the completion of work as soon as possible.
4 held with drugs:
The Coast Guard men have arrested 4 people aboard a cruise boat for possessing and consuming drugs, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily added, the arrest came after the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received a tip-off from other sea-goers that the men – believed to be a Kuwaiti, Iranian, an Iraqi and an unidentified person – were posing a danger to rest of the cruisers.
Auction on Sept 18:
The Directorate General of Ports Authority has announced that it will hold a public auction on Sept 18, 2019 to sell 2,107 reams of various types of cigarettes, 40 feet container of water treatment equipment which will be cleared by the Public Authority for Industries, 40 feet container of iron structures, three 40 feet containers of paper and many other goods.
In a press statement, the directorate disclosed that payment during the auction will be done only through K-Net.
