KUWAIT CITY, Sept 16: The Administrative Court cancelled the decision of the Health Ministry undersecretary and then appointed the plaintiff as head of department at South Sabah Al-Salem Clinic in Hawally Health District.
Attorney Ali Al-Ali filed the lawsuit on behalf of a Kuwaiti female employee pointing out that she worked at the administrative body on July 26, 2003 and she was promoted until the first specialist doctor post became available. He said the appealed decision was issued on Aug 1, 2017 appointing the woman’s colleague as head of the department in violation of regulations as the plaintiff is eligible for the post. He revealed his client complained to the concerned administrative body but there was no response.
The court affirmed the plaintiff met all the conditions for occupying supervisory position and she was the most deserving among the short listed employees to occupy the

position.
Jail for citizen:
The Misdemeanor Court sentenced a citizen to three months in prison for offending, insulting and threatening a Kuwaiti woman and her husband in an Instagram post.
The Public Prosecution charged the accused with the abovementioned misdemeanors.
Attorney Zaid Al-Khabbaz, lawyer for the plaintiff, highlighted results of cyber crimes investigations which confirmed that the account belongs to the accused.
He pointed out that the offensive phrases and threats negatively affected the plaintiff and her husband, indicating the defendant had criminal intent when he committed the act.
Smuggling drugs:
Customs officers foiled five attempts to smuggle drugs in the last few days by five passengers from two European countries, two from other GCC countries and one from an Arab country.
A customs inspector suspected a GCC national coming from his country so his luggage was inspected thoroughly. This led to the discovery of an undisclosed quantity of hashish and ‘Kabti’.
The smugglers were discovered by customs inspectors assigned at terminals one, four and five.
