Health panel scheduled to discuss 3 reports this week
Med responsibility, 5G Net services, charity work
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23: The Parliamentary Health Committee is scheduled this week to discuss three reports – on medical responsibility, 5G internet services, and charity work. The meeting is aimed at preparing all three agendas ahead of the resumption of parliamentary activities next month, reports Al-Rai daily.
Head of the committee Dr Hamoud AlKhudeiri told the daily that government bodies attending the committee meetings more than once include the Communication Authority, Ministry of Health, Municipality and Environment Public Authority. He also affirmed that “there’s harm in the use of the new communication network (5G services) but observes international standards related to frequencies”, noting the same equipment and towers for the 4G system is used in the new network.
“The committee will prepare the final report that will bear all opinions of the governmental or non-governmental organizations, which include recommendations on suitable locations for communication towers built in secure places far from the residential areas, while checking health requirements,” he noted.
With regard to the proposed medical responsibility law, Al-Khudeiri indicated the draft is ready and will be referred to the health committee soon. The law consists of several items – among them medical malpractices. The law on charity and philanthropic work, which was returned to the committee with amendments, has yet to be deliberated on.
