Acting PM briefs Cabinet about his visit to armed forces on ‘security measures’
Sheikh Nasser Sabah chairs weekly Cabinet meeting
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23, (KUNA): The Cabinet held its weekly session on Monday at Seif Palace under chairmanship of Acting Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Following the session, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh stated that the Cabinet was briefed by Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah about his recent visits to the Air Force Operations Center and the Air Defense Forces to review the General Staff of the Army’s measures to boost the state’s security and stability in light of the delicate regional situation.
Sheikh Nasser stressed that all army units should be in a state of readiness and vigilance due to the ongoing developments in the region.
On the occasion of the Saudi national day, the Cabinet congratulated Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman and the Saudi people on the dear national occasion.
The Cabinet lauded the Kingdom’s remarkable success in dealing with repercussions of the Aramco’s two oil facilities in record time despite the serious damage caused by last week’s attack. It voiced confidence in the wisdom and ability of the brothers in the Kingdom to respond firmly and forcefully to such terrorist acts.

The Cabinet reiterated Kuwait’s firm support to the Kingdom in all the measures to retain its security and stability, wishing it everlasting security and stability under the wise leadership of King Salman.
Later, the Cabinet discussed and approved a government sukuk bill, which aims to complete the legislative and regulatory framework for the Islamic finance industry in Kuwait. It referred the bill to His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
It also mulled and endorsed a draft decree of the bylaw of the board of the Public Authority for Social Insurance.
The government reviewed several reports on the implementation of the state annual plan during the period from April 1 to June 30, 2019; the efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (2030) in the GCC States, the state agencies handling of the oil spill off Asherij beach last June, and progress in the building of the Al-Mutlaa housing city.
Regarding the recent regional developments, the Cabinet denounced the suicide attack in Karbala governorate that resulted in many deaths and injuries, while also strongly condemned this terrorist act that threatened the stability and security of Iraq.
It also expressed sincere condolences to the victims of a two terrorist bombings in Afghanistan; one took place in the capital of Kabul and another in Parwan province.
It reiterated Kuwait’s rejection of all forms of terrorism. It prayed for the victims and their families and wished the wounded swift recovery.
