According to the daily the members of the gang were arrested by personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for stealing money from the bank accounts of several people (Kuwaitis and expatriates) in Kuwait.

The stolen money varied from person to person but according to reports one Kuwaiti had complained about the theft of KD 10,000 from his account.

‘Drugged’ into sex:

As the saying goes, beware your enemy once and your friend a thousand times, police have summoned for interrogation two young women for giving their friend narcotic pills after convincing her that it was a kind of vitamin, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily quoting security sources said, according to a complaint filed by the victim’s father at a local police station, his daughter asked permission to go to a chalet in the south of the country with two of her friends.

According to him the daughter said the two women gave her a pill and said it was vitamin and after consuming it she lost her balance and after some time a young man came and he sexually assaulted her.

The father has given police the details about her daughter’s friends and the address of the chalet where the incident happened.

The Al-Anba daily said the incident happened during a birthday party and the friend gave her the Larika tablet and she lost consciousness.

Man freed on bail:

The Public Prosecutor has released a Kuwaiti who was accused of assaulting securitymen using a sword and stun gun, has been released on KD 100 bail, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to a security source, the Kuwaiti was arrested after they suspected him of consuming drugs and intoxicants, which the sources said were seized from the young man’s car.

However, the Al-Anba daily has published on its website a video clip explaining the young man’s experiences and details of the incident from a security point of view.

The brother of the young man said he file a case against the traffic police for abusing their authority and damaging his brother’s vehicle after deliberately colliding with it. He also said the confiscation of drugs from his brother’s vehicle is a cooked up story and

said instead his brother was severely beaten by nine men in uniform and according to a medical report the injuries range from fractures to bruises.

He added, the violent attack on his brother cannot be justified even if he has committed an offense. He questioned the punishment given by the police who appear to have taken the law in their hands away from the judiciary since he is suffering from bruises all over the body.

He added, the damaged vehicle can be repaired or replaced, but can anyone replace what happened to his brother, he asked.

A security source said one of the traffic patrols suspected the young man driving along the First Ring Road and when the traffic officer asked him to stop; he made an immoral gesture and tried to escape. When he was chased and made to stop, he allegedly assaulted the officer and later police found drugs in his car.
