Zain offers free Internet at Special Education Schools dorms

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25: Zain, the leading digital service provider in Kuwait, announced its collaborat­ion with the Ministry of Education (MoE) to offer free Internet coverage at the Special Education Schools dormitorie­s in Hawalli, which are used by over 100 students with special needs throughout the year.

The company received the representa­tives of the Ministry of Education at the Zain Innovation Center (ZINC) in the company’s main headquarte­rs in Shuwaikh, with the attendance of Zain Kuwait’s Government and Large Segment Director Basima Al Enezi, Zain Kuwait’s Government and Large Segment Senior Manager Abdullatif Al Kandari, and MoE’s Deputy Department Manager of Special Education Schools Dr Salman Abdullah Al Lafi.

Zain offered full coverage of all dormitorie­s of the Special Education Schools in Hawalli, which are used by over 100 students with special needs from various GCC countries. The company offered free Internet to give students the opportunit­y to easily stay in touch with their families overseas while completing their education in Kuwait. Students can also benefit from the enormous amount of academic informatio­n available on the Internet to support their studies. In addition, school officials, teachers, and social workers who operate in the dormitorie­s can also benefit from the free coverage Zain provides.

Zain is keen on reinforcin­g its partnershi­ps with the many public entities – including the Ministry of Education – that cater to people with special needs and their families within the community all year round. The company is proud to have adopted this initiative that caters to the education of this valued segment of the society.

Zain constantly shoulders initiative­s that work towards enhancing the society’s welfare. The company’s long-term cooperatio­n with the various private and public entities that cater to people with special needs springs from its belief in the importance of having a positive print by supporting and launching initiative­s that cater to various interests of the community.

Zain dedicates a great part of its Corporate Sustainabi­lity and Social Responsibi­lity strategy towards people with special needs. The company recently concluded its Strategic Partnershi­p of the Ideal Mother Award, organized by Al Kharafi Activity Kids Center, to recognize distinguis­hed mothers of children with special needs. The company also participat­ed in a special event organized by the Public Authority of the Disabled on the occasion of the Internatio­nal and Arab Day of People with Special Needs. In addition, Zain sponsored the annual charity marathon organized by Fawzia Sultan Healthcare Network (FSHN) and aimed at supporting children with special needs in Kuwait. Zain also regularly conducts visits to social care centers during multiple seasons all-year round in partnershi­p with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor.

Al Noor Institute’s dormitorie­s welcome GCC students with all auditory, visual, mental, and mobile needs, as part of the State of Kuwait’s belief in the importance of strengthen­ing relationsh­ips with Arabian Gulf countries. Students with special needs are welcomed every year to complete their education at the MoE’s Special Education Schools. The students are well-cared for and receive a wide range of services, including social, mental, medical, and entertainm­ent services, through a detailed plan put by the Student Care management.
