The same sources added that Ministry of Education and the National Center for Education Development are keen on pointing out these functions in a more accurate manner to avoid and to prevent overlapping of functions, indicating tasks and functions of the department of education curriculum and research are represented in the preparation of national standards for education in cooperation with the concerned establishment, in addition to evaluation of the educational achievements of students, and upgrading of standards in a continuous manner based on the results.
With regard to the department in charge of education curriculum and research, its mandate is related to the formation and development of academic curriculum for all academic categories, which have been prepared by the center for education development as per the national standards for education, they noted.
The sources explained the department of measurement and valuation, which is affiliated to the National Center for Education Development, is in charge of implementing local and international studies to measure and rate the education system of Kuwait, whereas the department of evaluation and education quality control is in charge of conducting research and studies related to education achievement of students before referring the report to the ministry undersecretary.
