Lawmakers express delight over safe return of HH Amir
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 16: Lawmakers expressed their delight and relief over the safe return of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah to the country after his successful medical visit to the United States.
Describing His Highness the Amir’s return as “a celebration for the whole country”, the MPs commended the efforts of governmental institutions in ensuring good health and safe return of His Highness the Amir as well as the excitement of citizens which was obvious from their telephone calls and cables of greetings, and represent an evidence of the place His Highness the Amir holds in the hearts of citizens.
MP Khalil Al-Saleh affirmed that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah united the hearts of citizens before their minds through his well-renowned humanity and fatherly wisdom.
MP Askar Al-Enezi considers the return of His Highness the Amir as “a celebration for the entire country regardless of nationality, as no one can deny the extent of his political and diplomatic reach as well as his reformative and humanitarian efforts, a matter that every Kuwaiti is proud of”.
MP Khaled Al-Shatti said the hearts of citizens are filled with happiness due to the safe return of His Highness the Amir, adding that he has turned to Allah in prayer for the country to retain the blessing of a man and to give him the power to maintain his humanitarian and reformative course.
In another development, MP Safaa Al-Hashim submitted a series of parliamentary questions to the Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan concerning the two major companies providing food delivery services.
She wants to know the extent of monopolization that the two companies are subjecting this area to, and whether they are abiding by the anti-monopoly law, as there are several other applications developed and pushed out by Kuwaitis, and their competition prospects should be safeguarded.
In addition, MP Mohammed AlDalal submitted parliamentary questions to the Minister of Public Works Dr Jinan Boushahri, asking about the policies in place in terms of supervising contractors in their work of repairing roads and highways. He also asked about the ministry’s preparations for the upcoming rainy season.
