Kuwait’s ambassador hails ‘historic’ ties with Bahrain
Kuwaiti official affirms deep-rooted ties with Hungary
MANAMA, Oct 17, (KUNA): Kuwait’s Ambassador to Bahrain Sheikh Thamer Al-Sabah commended Thursday “deep-rooted historic” relations with Manama.
Sheikh Thamer said he conveyed regards of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at an audience with Bahraini King Hamad Al-Khalifa to present his credentials as Kuwait’s envoy in Manama.
Speaking to KUNA, Sheikh Thamer said His Highness the Amir instructed him to further promote bilateral relations and cooperation with Bahrain.
He recalled how Bahrain stood firmly with Kuwait during Iraq’s invasion in 1990-91 and hosted Kuwaiti citizens throughout the invasion.
Meanwhile, the visiting Kuwaiti Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity and Water Khaled Al-Fadhel on Thursday affirmed depth of the Kuwaiti-Hungarian relations dating back to 55 years ago.
The minister made the assertion in remarks to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) after a meeting that grouped his delegation with Hungarian Minister of Commerce Peter Szijjarto, on margins of the international Budapest Water Summit 2019, themed “Preventing Water Crises,” hosted by the Hungarian capital.
Minister Al-Fadhel expressed aspiration to bolster relations between the two countries in various spheres, affirming Hungarian leaders’ keenness on activating previously endorsed agreements. He also indicated at the mutual desire to establish cooperation in diverse fields, namely water and energy.
The Kuwaiti official has also met with Hungarian Minister of Interior, who also handles the water portfolio, Sandor Pinter. The latter affirmed his country’s keenness on bolstering mutual cooperation with Kuwait.
