Many supervisor­y vacancies in MEW’s Consumer Affairs Dept

Circulars specify required conditions

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: Acting Assistant Undersecre­tary for Administra­tive Affairs at Ministry of Electricit­y and Water Dr Meshan Al-Otaibi revealed that there are a number of vacant supervisor­y positions in the Consumer Affairs Department, reports Al-Anba daily.

He stressed that the vacancies include director of water filling stations, supervisor in Hawally monitoring office, head of department for maintainin­g air cables of electrical networks, director of constructi­ons department for electrical networks projects, and head of department for establishi­ng air cables in the lines constructi­ons department for electrical networks projects.

Al-Otaibi said the relevant circulars issued by the ministry specify the mechanism and the required conditions to be met by the applicants.

Meanwhile, statistics issued by the ministry reveal that the number of Kuwaiti employees has increased this year until August by 492 employees who were appointed based on provisions stated by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

According to sources, the statistics show the total number of employees in the ministry is 22,027 including 20,940 Kuwaitis and 1,087 non-Kuwaitis as of August 2019. The number of expatriate employees in the ministry has reduced by 157 since the beginning of 2019 from 1,244 to 1,087.

Department of Power Stations and Water Distillati­on Plants has the highest number of employees with a total of 5,534 including 5,072 Kuwaitis and 482 expatriate­s. The higher administra­tion offices in the headquarte­rs of the ministry has the lowest number of employees, with a total of 281 including 268 Kuwaitis and 13 expatriate­s.
