“You know that I’m a Roma fan but I’ve always been fond of Sampdoria,” added Ranieri, who famously won the English Premier League with rank outsiders Leicester City in 2016.

Ranieri said that 36-year-old captain Fabio Quagliarella, who was Serie A’s top-scorer last season with 26 goals, was the key to a revival. KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: The 25th Asian Bowling Championship is due to start this Sunday, October 20 with the participation of 28 countries.

Intense preparations by the organizing committees are ongoing in order to ensure the best presentation of the event on both technical and organizational levels.

The opening ceremony of the championship will take place at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Farwaniya. It will be attended by the Minister of Information and State Minister for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri on behalf of the main sponsor of the event His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak AlHamad Al-Sabah.

A board member of Kuwait Bowling Club and the manager of the national bowling teams for both men and women Nader AlMansour said the bowling club will not spare any effort in giving the best presentation of the championship.

He affirmed that preparations have been underway since the time Kuwait was handed over the responsibility of hosting the championship.

Al-Mansour acknowledged that the 25th Asian Bowling Championship is a serious test for the bowling club given that it is expected to host other international championships in 2020 and 2021 – the Individuals Bowling World Cup for Men and Women, and the Teams Bowling World Cup for Men and Women respectively.

He said he hopes the efforts rendered by Kuwait in terms of bridging gaps among the GCC members will bear fruits, given that the GCC Bowling Championship was suspended two years ago due to the rift that happened within the GCC house.

In addition, Al-Mansour affirmed that Kuwait Bowling Club has set a long-term plan to equip Kuwaiti women with necessary bowling skills, revealing that several female players of ages between 13 and 22 have been chosen to represent Kuwait in in this championship which is due to start this Sunday.
