Health minister okays minutes of panel’s recommendations
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 19: Minister of Health Sheikh Dr Basel Hamoud Al-Sabah has approved the minutes of the committee’s recommendations formed by Ministerial Decree No. 103 of 2018 to consider violations of Article 17 of the Pharmacy Practice Law No. 28 of 1996, as amended by Article 2 of Law 30 of 2016, reports AlRai daily.
The Vice-Chairman of the Committee, Assistant Undersecretary for Drugs and Food Control Affairs, Dr Abdullah Al-Bader, said the recommendations of the committee, which included the issuance of a closure order for pharmacies in cooperative societies which are in violation of Law No. 30 of 2016 and its executive regulations for the lack of the license of the pharmacy by the name of Kuwaiti pharmacist during the defined period of grace.
These pharmacies whose conditions have not been reconciled are referred to the Public Prosecution to take legal action against them within 30 days of the adoption of the minutes of the committee’s recommendations. Al-Bader explained the recommendations issued by the committee which was headed by Undersecretary Dr Mustafa Reda, and included the Assistant Undersecretary for Drug Control Affairs, the Assistant Undersecretary for Civil Services Affairs, the Director of the Legal Affairs and Investigations Department, the President of the Pharmaceutical Society and the Director of the Drug Inspection Department as members, have been in force since their adoption.
