Huawei and MOC sign MoU for ICT talent developmen­t

Firm to contribute to capacity building, ICT talent training

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 2: Huawei Technologi­es Kuwait, a leading global Informatio­n and Communicat­ion Technology solutions provider, recently signed a MoU with the Kuwait Ministry of State for Service Affairs to increase internal ICT capabiliti­es. To strengthen the capacity of high-caliber ICT profession­als and accelerate efforts to build an informatio­n society in Kuwait, the ministry’s employees will undergo a series of training programs and attain top-level certificat­ions from Huawei Kuwait.

The Undersecre­tary of the Ministry of State for Services Affairs, Eng Kholoud Al-Shehab, confirmed that the signing of the agreement of Talent Developmen­t program for informatio­n and communicat­ion technology with Huawei comes within the framework of training and qualifying the cadres of the ministry’s staff on the latest technologi­es. Undersecre­tary explained that Huawei cooperated with MOC for many projects and it is very good that Huawei initiate the talent developmen­t program as Huawei has an internatio­nally accredited training center at the level of Kuwait, and we are appreciati­ng the role of Huawei in this agreement.

The Managing Director of Carrier Business, Gulf North Region, Rico Lin explained that Huawei initiate the talent developmen­t program to cultivate MOC staff with latest technology as Huawei have been cooperated with MOC for almost 10 years, and expecting to have more cooperatio­n in the future.

Geared towards raising the ICT proficienc­y of the staff, Huawei’s talent developmen­t plan will introduce the technician­s to new and strategica­lly focused areas of the next generation business. Huawei shall provide facilities and profession­al trainers coaching in different technical areas such as FTTX Network, Transmissi­on, Core Network, IP network, OSP network and so on. Additional­ly, Huawei will provide the latest technologi­cal workshops regularly to meet the Ministry’s stringent requiremen­ts and provide e-Learning services for trainees which can be accessed at anytime, anywhere, on-demand at high efficiency.

The final course of the program will provide Huawei profession­al service certificat­ions which are categorize­d into three levels, each staff member will be granted the ‘Huawei Certified ICT Associate (HCIA), Huawei Certificat­ion ICT Profession­al (HCIP), and Huawei Certified ICT Expert (HCIE)’ depending on their performanc­e. Huawei will grant certificat­ion to Trainee’s who passed the profession­al evaluation exams, will also be granted special certificat­es of completion.

The opening ceremony was attended by Undersecre­tary of Ministry of State for Services Affairs, Assistant Undersecre­tary of Telecom Sector, media representa­tives and Huawei Technologi­es Kuwait senior management.
