BAS organises Adventure & Sports trip to Romania

A fun-filled term break

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 4: The British Academy of Sport (BAS) organized for the fourth time another successful trip to Transylvan­ia, in Romania. A group of 20 students and 3 teachers enjoyed a fun filled adventure holiday as part of their Term break.

The trip was for 6 days in the Predeal region which is a beautiful mountain resort especially in the autumn with an altitude of 1600 meters and located very close to Brasov City in Transylvan­ia. During the trip, the students took part in a range of sporting activities with profession­al coaches. These included Horse Riding,Tubing, Luge, Bowling, ATV, Team Building Games, Rock Climbing, Hiking, Archery, Swimming at Brasov Paradise Aqua Park and Therme Bucharest which is the largest relaxation and entertainm­ent center in Europe. All these activities were planned in advanced special for BAS Students with Ro Bike Mania and Tabere Junior.

BAS students also enjoyed visits to many of Romania’s unique tourist venues such as Dracula’s Castle where they celebrated the Halloween, Peles Palace, Brasov City, Superland, Rasnov and they also travelled 1364 meters to the top of the mountains by Cable Chair in Busteni.

The trips culminated with a surprise when the folk ensemble “Dor De Munte” was invited to perform traditiona­l dances and songs special for BAS Students. Another great event was the traditiona­l “BAS Got Talent Show” where most of the students participat­ed and the Awards Evening where all received medals, certificat­es and souvenirs of this historic trip to Romania.

In the last day, the group was invited to visit as the first official delegation from Kuwait the new location of Kuwait Embassy in Bucharest where they met with HE the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Romania, Talal Al Hajri, who gave them a short briefing about the Embassy activities and enjoyed a presentati­on on the trip from Year 7 Student Ahmed Al Khader.

Also the BAS Students had the opportunit­y to met with Cristian Gheorghe one of the biggest sports promoter from Romania and the founder of Sports Business Academy who is the first academy specialize­d in sports business from East of Europe

A special surprise for the students was to visit the British School of Bucharest where they were welcomed by the Headmaster Philip Walters. They also had a school tour and the opportunit­y to make new friends during some games activities with Year 6 students from Romania.

BAS will organize another Sports and Adventure Trip in April 2020 to Switzerlan­d and the BAS students can start to book from now the seats as the places are very limited. The next important event at BAS will be the 6th Men’s Internatio­nal Basketball Tournament which will take place on Friday 29 November at BSK and all the Embassies are invited to register their teams.
