‘Israeli, Palestinian role crucial’

‘Region to witness exceptional changes’

-

“ISRAEL and the Palestinian cause continues to play the main role in the formation of the political features of the Middle East,” columnist and professor at Kuwait University Political Science Department Dr Haila Hamad Al-Mekaimi wrote for Annahar daily.

“In other words, this region is currently witnessing exceptional changes as the US President Donald Trump is facing impeachment proceedings in the US Congress.

“As this scenario unfolds we are likely to witness calm that will coincide with the confession of the existence of new international powers in the Middle East represented by Russia and China.

“In the midst of countries which are ruled by sectarian quota some reports say there is international pressure for the holding of legislative elections which all Palestinian parties and movements have been waiting for a long time.

“Surprisingly, the former Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu remains perplexed to form a new government and there are signs he will form a government with the help of minority parties most of whom are Arab MPs representing Palestinian areas which were occupied by Israel in 1948 and these MPs will not participate in the government formed by party of Netanyahu.

“However, under all these circumstances, the recent Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip during which the leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Organization’s Military Wing Baha’a Abu Al-Atta has been assassinated under a justification that Al-Atta represented a threat to the Israeli security because of his schemes to attack the Israeli cities in addi- tion to fighters from the Gaza Strip bombing the Israeli border cities.

“Such being the case, we conclude that the recent Israeli military operation on the Gaza Strip was part and parcel of the intelligence war between Israel and the Palestinian parties and this operation could be seen qualitative upon the recommendation of the Israeli Shabak – the Israel Security Agency, better known by the acronym Shabak or the Shin Bet.

“It is the first military operation that resulted in the assassination of a Palestinian military leader since the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip in 2014. For its part, the Palestinian Resistance has announced that it will retaliate as swiftly as possible.

“However, it looks like that in the wake of this operation, Netanyahu is likely to force the leader of the Israeli Blue and White centrist and liberal political alliance to participate in the new Israeli government or resort to the inevitable third election.

“Speaking of the recent Israeli raids on Damascus, this actually means Netanyahu is still looking forward to see such a development transforming into another regional war with Iran with some other regional parties likely to participate in this struggle and the prospective development is likely to ease pressures on the US president and is likely to constitute a major and significant ground for the US administration in response to pressures put on it by the pro-Israel lobby in Washington to return to the Syrian scene to protect the Israeli borders and security.

“Anyway, as the above scenario unfolds it is in the hands of the Palestinian resistance to be dragged into a battle to play a significant role to change the nature of the struggle not only on the Palestinian front but at the level of the entire Arab region.

“Meanwhile, we say the former Israeli prime minister Netanyahu dealing with the Palestinian issue is based on a conviction that he has repeatedly announced during various meetings and statements indicating he doesn’t believe in the Palestinian existence or in the international political solution to the issue of founding two states in Palestine one for the Palestinians and the other for the Israelis, rather he believes that the Palestinian cause be dealt by Israel as an internal issue to be dealt with by the Israeli government.

“In conclusion, we expect that the recent Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip and the retaliation by the Palestinians shall constitute the crossroads for the Palestinians internal front and this development, shall affect the calculations of the entire Arab region.”

“Seventy years of persistent Israeli excavations in the occupied Palestinian territories have been indeed fearful,” columnist Fakhri Hashim Al-Sayed Rajab wrote for Al-Qabas daily.

“Yes, this is the fact because according to the Israeli researcher Shlomo Sand all what has been rumored by the Hebrew state about the so-called ‘Promised Land’ and the stories of the forefathers’ are only aimed at cultivating the Israeli lands because the Zionist strategy is based on writing history in a manner that is contrary to the relevant fact to serve the Zionists idea related to the Israeli geography.

“Such being the case, the Zionists have intruded some terms dated back to various historical periods that began during the era of Before Christ (BC). Some of these terms surfaced during the Crusaders War which until now some of the Zionists use in their PhD thesis to prove the alleged Israeli right in the Palestinian lands among the people of a new generation who are living in an alleged state and know nothing about the most important issue represented by the appearance of new historians. But the question is: who are these historians and what about their thesis?

“As a matter of fact, these historians represent a denomination of scientists who do not depend on traditional thesis as historical documents, because the latter do not reflect the facts in the Israeli excavations in Palestine because these excavations give no historical evidences about the Hebrew existence in Palestine.

“Such being the case, the new historians currently depend on documents that are found in the archives of Israel, the United Nations, Britain and some other archives since the late 1980s only.

“In this context, we say most of the new historians have appeared outside the state of the Israeli occupation and far away from the Zionist academy institution, given the fact the appearance of these historians has coincided with the appearance of the idea of ‘post Zionism’ where the latter suggests the re-examination of the basic terms of the Israeli community.

“However, these historians are facing media campaigns which oppose their writings. Some of them have been pursued by universities and higher studies institutes because their new studies that are published in English outside the Zionist entity have resulted in many Western historians and researchers publishing new studies about the events and the ordeal that has befallen Palestine in 1948 and the alleged existence of Jews in Palestine, because the excavations confirm historically there was no existence of Jews in Palestine and this is the crucial point.”

“Thanks to technical advancements that have contributed to the flood of information, the world is currently witnessing growing number of demonstrations. There are many reasons behind these demonstrations such as spread of corruption, decisions issued by the governments that negatively affect citizens’ day-to-day life, or reduced freedoms,” Iman Jowhar Hayat wrote for Al-Qabas daily.

“The most dominant reason behind the demonstrations is the spread of corruption, which has aggravated citizens’ anger and harmed the relations between them and the governments. The execution of rationalization policies on one hand and the increasing levels of corruption on the other has enlarged the gap between the people and their governments in many countries. Both citizens and governments are isolated from each other due to strategies that do not favor the former. This wide gap will not shrink unless both parties realize the need to exit immobility and adopt the principles of civil democratic state.

“Kuwait recently witnessed demonstrations at Erada Square based on a call by former MP Saleh Al-Mulla known as ‘The issue has become silly enough’. Large number of citizens responded to the call and thronged Erada Square. Despite the fact that they had varied demands, the main demand was the call to put an end to the spread of corruption.

“The popular gathering was not based on a call of any particular bloc or ideology. Citizens rushed to Erada Square randomly. I was there too and I saw some of them crying out, while some others were laughing sarcastically and others were silent with sad faces.

“What is needed is transparency and appointment of efficient senior officials who are capable of responding to the citizens’ demands. One more important thing is that it should be possible to refer senior officials for questioning.”

“A survey was conducted on social media, involving more than one entity directly or indirectly involved with the Ministry of Health, in particular, hospitals, patients, doctors and administrators,” Talal Al-Saeed wrote for Al-Seyassah daily.

“It was agreed that the Indian crew is the best – both doctors and nurses. It has not been established over the course of their history that any of them hold a false certificate or work without competency, or delay in the working hours, or dispense medicines to their compatriots without right, or treat their compatriots who did not pay the fees, or enter them without an appointment.

“Indian doctors have hardly committed any medical errors. In fact, it is almost non-existent, because not a single medical error was traced back to an Indian doctor. Indian doctors never filed cases against patients or patients’ companions and later withdraw them after getting material compensation, as seen by doctors of other nationalities, especially a particular nationality, which is obvious.

“It is unfortunate that the ministry does not hear or obey them, and still contracts new doctors from those countries whose certificates are in doubt or new graduates who have no experience and come to gain experience with us. They then look for another place, especially in European countries after they might have ruined our hospitals.

“The question is: Why does the ministry not pay attention to the Indian subcontinent instead of recruiting doctors of the other nationality, which has earned our hospitals a bad reputation so much that people lost trust in them? No one trusts the diagnosis of a doctor and the treatment prescribed by him. This is not to mention the phenomenon of organized theft of medicines, which the ministry was unable to deal with until the Ministry of Health’s stores were without medicines, and citizens had to buy medicines from pharmacies. This is something everyone knows, and is no longer a secret.

“I had already filmed videos about medicine theft, but the ministry did not give the attention they deserved or investigated them as if it did not matter. I think that is the same reason why they only recruit doctors of that same nationality. Try the Asian crew, especially the Indian medical staff, and you will see the difference within a year. The trust between citizens and expatriate physicians is almost non-existent now.”

“Founded in 1868, the Empire of Japan consists of a group of islands located in the North Pacific in Far East Asia with an area of about 378,000 square kilometers and a population of approximately 130 million. It interchanges the third or fourth position with Germany in the global economy rating, while the Japanese are unique in terms of loyalty to their homeland and belief in the value of teamwork,” Dr Ali Abdul-Rahman Al-Huwail wrote for Al-Anba daily.

“The oddity of the Japanese technology is that when vehicles approach a pedestrian crossing or red traffic light, the ground lines on the streets of Tokyo reduce the speed of the vehicle until it stops completely without the need for interference by the driver.

“There are no companies in Japan for cleaning schools as students are responsible for cleaning facilities, classrooms, gardens and even toilets. The Japanese are not allowed to buy a car unless it is proven that they have their own parking in front or near their house due to scarcity of land for parking spaces. In Japan, capsule hotels which offer bed space for its residents are spreading and they are cheap. The small room has a TV and Wi-Fi. High-speed trains have been in Japanese cities since 1964, and admirably, there have been few accidents since they were launched.

“The Japanese consider giving them a personal insult. The Japanese have to do their work fully and satisfactorily. The Japanese can buy full meals from machines, similar to those intended for the sale of sweets, cigarettes and drinks in other countries. Without the need for a special mode of transport, the Japanese are fond of blending foods.

“The Japanese government decided to protect the health of the Japanese not to exceed the working hours to the maximum applicable in the countries of the world, so the Japanese came out in mass protests and forced the government to reverse its decision because the Japanese are fond of work!

“It is customary in Japan that a person who has no heir has to adopt a family member and give him his name so that he can obtain the right to inherit, in order to preserve the family’s existence and avoid extinction. Japan is one of the most earthquake-prone countries in the world.

“The American Cadillac was damaged by electronic devices when it was heavily exposed to water. When Japan began manufacturing, it proudly displayed the following year at the International Auto Show and is completely immersed in glass water tanks and all other electronic devices working efficiently and accurately.

“Finally, Japanese families do not use domestic labor and consider that performing household chores part of family duties such as raising and guiding children!”
