Kuwait takes part in Int’l Charity Bazaar in Khartoum
Kuwait on Friday participated in the annual World Bazaar organized by the International Voluntary Charity Association.
In her opening remarks, Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdouk’s wife Mona Abdullah expressed gratitude to Kuwait and all other countries participating in the bazaar, noting that the association playing a big role in development.
In a statement to KUNA, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Kuwaiti Embassy in Khartoum Abdulkarim Al-Mjaim said that Kuwait’s participation comes out of keenness to activate its annual participation in the bazaar, which is a humanitarian demonstration with a lofty message to bring about change in the lives of those in need.
Al-Mjaim noted that Kuwait’s participation in the bazaar, which is being held over two days under the direction of the Kuwaiti Ambassador in Khartoum Bassam Al-Qabandi, includes displaying Kuwaiti products and heritage items highlighting the landmarks of Kuwait, in addition to textile, handicrafts, traditional food and souvenirs.
The honorary president of the volunteer association, Angela Klockner, said in her opening remarks that the bazaar proceeds will be earmarked for the construction of a lounge for Mae stoma disease companions in Khartoum, the only research center of its kind that attracts hundreds of victims from Sudan and rehabilitates schools damaged by floods and rains.
This year, alongside Kuwait 17 Arab and foreign countries and several Sudanese organizations and companies participated in the bazaar. (KUNA)
