Tons of waste removed, scores of shops shut as Jleeb cleanup campaign on track
Indian gang held in illegal attestation of degrees, licences
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 27: Complementing the field campaigns carried out by the Joint Ministerial Committee to follow up the existing situation in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, Director of the Public Hygiene and Roads Operations Department, and Director of the Audit and Follow-up Department of Municipality Services at the Governorate Municipality Branch, Saad AlKhrainej, explained the campaign was organized after it came to the notice of the authorities that a large number of stores in the area have been violating the Municipal regulations, reports Al-Anba daily.
The committee is chaired by the Director General of the Municipality, Ahmad Al-Manfouhi.
Al-Khrainej stressed the campaigns will continue until all the violating shops are closed and the prestige of the law is imposed on the violators without exception. He also stressed a report is submitted daily to the director of the branch of the province for senior management review.
He went on to say, the campaign, which began at 8 am continued even after the Maghreb prayers and resulted in the closure of 25 shops administratively after completion of all legal procedures, which included the citations.
Al-Khrainej pointed out that the Department of Hygiene over a week had issued 65 citations related to public cleanliness and 31 citations to street vendors in addition to confiscating 68 tons of food and confiscated construction materials and iron and stored at the Municipality site.
This is in addition to 3,240 tons of residential waste, a load of 960 tons of construction waste and a load of 756 tons of scrap and used furniture has been lifted.
He has appealed to the owners of real estate to ensure the shops do not violate the Municipal laws and also appealed to the residents of the region to cooperate with the municipality inspectors.
Indians arrested:
Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested seven Indian nationals for forging documents and certificates using fake Indian Embassy seals. All the arrested persons are from Andhra Pradesh and are believed to be members of a large documents forging gang, reports Al-Rai daily quoting daijiworld.com, an Indian web portal.
The daily said according to the portal the Kuwaiti Investigation Department arrested the culprits near the embassy premises while
they were allegedly attesting the certificates and documents.
According to the portal, the investigation team also found that the culprits were skilled in forging and issuing driving licence. As part of the investigation, the authorities approached one of the culprits on the pretext of attesting a document to get a driving license. While the required service was given after three days, the person was caught red handed. The other six persons from the gang were arrested subsequently.
The investigation team then raided the residence of the suspects and found the seals of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs and high resolution printer which was used to forge the certificates and documents being issued in the name of the Embassy.
The culprits, as a team, were working through WhatsApp. Deals were done through WhatsApp voice clips. The seal of the Indian Embassy and the signatures of the officials were forged using high resolution techniques. The Kuwait Foreign Ministry’s seal was also forged. It is estimated that they earned up to 50,000 dinars per month. The investigation team recovered items including cash, gold and expensive watches from their homes.

Egyptian woman has filed a complaint with the police accusing her husband of beating her and her mother and causing them severe injuries, reports Al-Rai daily.
In their complaint the two women said hearing their cries for help the neighbors came to their rescue.
When the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received a report on the incident police rushed to the house, controlled the husband and the women were taken to a hospital to get a medical report.
The man has been detained for interrogation pending referral to the Public Prosecution to find out the circumstances of the incident.
