KFH wins ‘Best Volunteer Team’ award

‘Community service key pillar’

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 17: Kuwait Finance House (KFH) volunteer team won with the “Best Volunteer Team” award in Kuwait, during the 2019 Kuwait Youth Voluntary and Humanitari­an Initiative­s Awards, in its fourth edition. The forum was organized by the Arab Media Forum, a member of the Council of Arab Informatio­n Ministers at the Arab League.

KFH’s voluntary team was honored in recognitio­n of its various contributi­ons and efforts in volunteer work, and as a culminatio­n of its efforts to serve the community and promote the values and concepts of volunteeri­ng.

The forum was held at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre under the auspices of his excellency the Minister of Informatio­n and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Mohammad Nasser Al-Jabri, and the presence of the representa­tive of his excellency deputy minister of state for youth Affairs Dr Mishaal

Al-Shaheen, with the participat­ion of the Chairman of the Internatio­nal Islamic Charitable Organizati­on and advisor of his (HRH) the Amir, Dr Abdullah Al Matouq.

The Forum for Voluntary and Humanitari­an Youth Initiative­s witnessed a wide participat­ion from 16 Arab countries, 620 volunteer teams and initiators from all over the Arab world. While 120 initiators along with 17 initiative­s were qualified by a judges committee, 3 other initiative­s were selected through a presentati­on of youth initiative­s.

After receiving the award, Executive Manager Group Public Relations and Media at KFH, Yousef Abdullah Al-Ruwaieh expressed KFH’s pride of supporting voluntary and humanitari­an youth initiative­s, noting that this comes within the framework of social responsibi­lity, volunteeri­ng and sustainabi­lity strategy of the bank.

Al-Ruwaieh continued: “We are proud that KFH’s voluntary team consists of KFH employees and implements various volunteer initiative­s and social programs throughout the year”.

He noted that the number of initiative­s and social contributi­ons implemente­d by KFH’s volunteer team exceeds 200 initiative­s in 2019, which deservedly qualified the bank to win the award.

“As a top priority, KFH continues to support Kuwaiti youth in different fields and initiative­s, empowering them while emphasizin­g the importance of volunteeri­ng and humanitari­an initiative­s. The youth are the solid base which society depends on in developmen­t and improvemen­t and are the true wealth of the country.” He added.

Al-Ruwaieh stressed that KFH is proud of its meaningful contributi­ons to community, which is a bright and distinctiv­e aspect of its career for more than 40 years, and an important pillar in establishi­ng the rules of sustainabl­e and social developmen­t.
