Al-Sharq ‘wins’ Al-Khalifa Cup for Class C 1,400 meters race

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 17: The Hunting and Equestrian Club witnessed the competitio­n as part of the seventh meeting held recently despite the heavy rainfall.

The horse Al-Sharq from Al-Meraikhi Stable ridden by Alfarraj won the late Sheikh Abdullah Al-Khalifa Cup for Class C 1,400 meters race. Al-Sharq ended the race in 1:27.51 minutes while the horse Mujrayat from Al-Nashama Stable ridden by Tawfeeq came in second place, followed by the horse Najm from Al-De’eia Stable ridden by Ali in third place. Sheikh Dari Al-Fahd and Sheikh Sabah Al-Fahd Al-Nasser awarded the cup to Al-Meraikhi Stable.

The horse Halashma from Dasman Stable won the cup provided by Sheikh Dari Al-Fahd for locally bred horses in the 2,000 meters race. Halashma finished the race in 2:17.06 minutes while the horse Safwan for Khalid Rashdan Hujailan took the second place, and the horse Gheiath (also for Khalid Rashdan Hujailan) came in third place.

The horse Bekheit from De’eia Stable ridden by Ali won the cup provided by Mubarak Al-Kabeer Sports Club for the 2,200 meters race, finishing the race in 2.5.27 minutes. The horse Al-Me’ereb from De’eia Stable ridden by Faisal came second while the horse Flash Memory owned by Walid Khalid Al-Mutairi came third. Talal Al-Nest and the Administra­tion of Mubarak Al-Kabeer Sports Club awarded the Cup to the winner.

The horse Zahi for Nasser Al-Haifi won the Cup provided by Arabian Horse Center for original Arabian horses in the 1,600 meters race, finishing the race in 1:59.07 minutes.
