Amiri Amnesty to include 600-700 prisoners

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 18: Assistant Undersecretary for Correctional Facilities and Sentences Execution at Ministry of Interior Major General Faraj Al-Zoubi announced that this year’s Amiri Amnesty will include 600 to 700 Kuwaiti and expatriate prisoners convicted in various cases except for cases related to the State Security and terrorism.
In his speech during the opening ceremony of the 8th exhibition titled “Making of our hands” which was organized at the Avenues Mall under the patronage of Undersecretary of Interior Ministry Lieutenant General Essam Al-Naham, he said the amnesty will vary in proportion with either the sentences being reduced by half or three-quarter of the total prison time, or immediate release.
