Man arrested

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 18: Police have arrested an Egyptian for taking pictures of a young woman from under her skirt and after the arrest he claimed he is mentally ill. She said he was only attempting to satisfy his instinct and admitted to doing similar acts in other supermarkets, reports Al-Rai daily.

A security source said the arrest came after the woman’s sister complained to the market administration. The market management caught the suspect and handed him over to the police.

During interrogation he admitted to the charge and after police checked his mobile phone, they found several similar pictures. He stated that he is mentally ill and wanted to satisfy his lust by looking at such pictures. He has been handed over to the concerned authorities.

According to security sources someone informed the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior that someone driving a four-wheeler without a number plate was harassing female students by blocking their path.

When police reached the spot and ordered the man behind the wheel to surrender, he attempted to escape but was chased and arrested by the police patrols in Ardhiya.

By checking the identity of the suspect police discovered he was wanted by law in several cases including reckless driving. His vehicle has been impounded by the police.
